Bush Calls Immigration Bill "Amnesty" |

Posted by drpix On 06/26/2007 10:13:33 AM CDT abcnews.com ^ | 06/26/07 | abcnews/political-radar ABC News' Rick Klein reports: President Bush has spent a whole lot of time in recent months claiming that the immigration bill isn't "amnesty." But in describing the measure Tuesday morning, an apparent slip of the tongue suggested otherwise -- providing fodder for the talk-radio crowd that loathes the bill and wants it defeated in the Senate. "You know, I've heard all the rhetoric -- you've heard it, too -- about how this is amnesty. Amnesty means that you've got to pay a price for having been here illegally, and this bill does that," Bush said, according to the official... |
Sorry. But to me Laura is a female Hannity. (That’s not meant to be a compliment.) Give me Tammy Bruce (almost) any day.
Just sent Laura this email:
Your ridicule of Senator Coleman's office yesterday -- and your continued sophomoric repetition of it this morning -- is complete bullshit. BULLsh~t! I despise the RINOs like Coleman who are joining this arrogant president in his contempt for democracy and the people. And I continuously promote you, Laura, in internet forums. You are both substantive and passionate, a rare combination that makes you the jewel in the crown of talk radio. But you are also capable of bullsh~t. I will spare us both a tedious analysis of the entire episode of your calls to the senate yesterday. I will just note that it was NOT impossible to get through. Considering the pressure we are putting on them, it is kind of amazing to me that you can easily get through with a few minutes of redialing. A heck of a lot easier than calling into talk radio! But the worst of your little invented indignation is your ridiculing the poor intern, because she did not want to talk to you on the radio. You think an intern charged with receiving calls and tallying their opinions should interject herself into a red-hot national political dispute by presuming to speak -- without authorization -- for her boss on a national radio program? Get real. Coleman is a jerk for his political action. Your act about all this is not much better.
