FORWARD OPERATING BASE LOYALTY, Iraq - Soldiers with the 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division killed three insurgents trying to emplace an improvised explosive device in the Mualameen neighborhood of eastern Baghdad June 23.
Soldiers from Company A, 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment noticed an insurgent attempting to plant the IED near a curb at approximately 11:30 p.m.
The Soldiers fired on the insurgent, killing him. Two other insurgents, in a nearby vehicle, attempted to ram the Soldiers. Soldiers engaged the vehicle, killing both insurgents.
Residents in the area have been noticing an increase in militia activity and have reported tips to Iraqi and Coalition Forces. Earlier in the week, the unit recovered a cache and detained three suspects during a security operation.
Wonderful news. Good shootin, boys!

Double Bonus Points
Why not?
Do you have the specs on all of the IEDs?
If you (we) don’t then you’d have to send such a broad pulse that you’d knock out all civilian and your own electronics in the area.
...AND....you’d have to do this EVERYWHERE that you travel.
Difficult and impractical.
They didn’t want their buddy Akmed to get the first pick of the virgins.
