Hezbolla Condemns the Attack as "Intended to Destabilize the Area"
Beirut - Six soldiers from the Spanish army deployed in Lebanon as "blue helmets" have died and another two are wounded after an attack against their convoy in the south of the country, according to official sources at the Spanish Ministry of Defence. These are the first Spanish deaths as part of the peace mission deployed by the United Nations in Lebanon. No group has admitted responsibility for the attack yet... [Spanish president] Rodríguez Zapatero spoke with the general of the International Brigade, Ramón Martín Ambrosio, to tell him he has all the support of the Spanish government and understanding of the people in the dificult task the troops are undertaking in Lebanon. It had to be a mistake. After all Spain supposedly bought off the terrorists by electing Zapatero.
Spain already surrenderd to the terrorists. How will they do it again? Pull all the peace keepers out and declare
Spain will go back to Islamic rule? I’m sure thats the next step.
The shock comes from the premeditation. Spain expected to lose a few thousand people and various infrastructure by accidental bombing and suicide-oopsies. Being as to how this attack was deliberate, they are faced with unsurmountable obstacles in overlooking it.
I feel bad for the soldiers (obviously).
Can’t help but think that Spain’s shameful premature withdrawl in Iraq encouraged this type of attack.
The Arabs will again demand “Al Andalus”..
Inquisition payback.
This is a prelude to forcing the UN out so they can kill each other at will without anyone looking on. Not that the UN is an impartial observer.
Wait a minute! I thought Spain was protected from all future terrorist attacks after they surrendered their last election?!!? This is an outrage!
Looking the other way as is UN policy did not fare well for them this time.Reminds me of standing guard duty in the Army without bullets.
Ironic. The UN went into Lebanon to protect the terrorists against Israel.
Like it was accidental?
“Insult leads to injury.” Confucius
So much for machismo.
I know people here dont’ like Debka but I read this “UN Spanish peacekeepers cut covert protection deal with Hizballah behind backs of UN secretary and UNIFIL commander” and felt a combination of anger and disgust.
