Naked mud wrestlers...it could only be Glastonbury
Daily Mail (U.K.) ^ | 6-25-07 | Petronella Wyatt

It is 1am and there is a man in my tent. He is lying on his back waving his legs in the air. "Excuse me," I say. "But this is my tent." Instead of apologising, he giggles. He shows no sign of departing. Instead he replies: "Nice one, babe! Come on in and we'll have some fun together." Fun!? It is raining, I am covered in mud and my temper is about to snap like an over-stretched rubber band.

that most festival-goers were sane and well-behaved and any drug-taking would be prevented by the local police.

That's what I liked most about the old Grateful Dead shows. :-0

“....That’s what I liked most about the old Grateful Dead shows. :-0...”

You know, I never went to one of those. One of my friends used to go to a lot of them, and he told me he went, not to watch the Grateful Dead, but to watch the audience. He advised me that I should experience that at least once. Now I wish I had.

Yeah, but it's like eating a potato chip. I went to about 45 more shows after I got into the music. Got a nice Lithuanian basketball team jersey that I still wear.

Right with you on this one.

The boredom of the welfare state might be driving this. A bit of a long shot by me, having lived my first 23 years in England, save a turn in Egypt at 19 years.

I remember youths tearing away on their bikes, out into the countryside. Sneaking a draught of cider. Whistling at girls. Seems all the frowned on pleasures have now been sanctioned and indulged in by the young. This by the nanny state. So on to folly and beyond folly. LOL

Saw ‘em once myself just to be able to say I’d been, at the old Sportatorium in Ft. Lauderdale, back in the ‘80s, what a dump! Parking lot full of t-shirt vendors and dealers, LOL. Always did like the music tho’, “Me and My Uncle”, etc.
