The Briseno family was due for a good week, and they got one.
First, Joseph "Jay" Briseno Jr. was awarded a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart for his military service in Iraq, a point of pride for a family with a military tradition.
"It means a lot to us, because he's a hero," said Jay's father, Joseph Briseno, a retired military man himself.
But the real milestone came three days later, when Jay took a major step toward life without a feeding tube.

and please pray for him.
PRAYERS AND TEARS TROOP!
Of course. Prayers.
Prayers for this hero and his family.
Does anyone know how we can help the family financially? I see the they had help with the house. But it looks like the soldier’s parents are going broke helping him. I know that $$ is probably the least of their concerns. But it’s not right that they should bear any financial burden alone. Anyone have an address for them?
prayer bump
Prayers up for this Hero.
Prayers also for his family.
Why are there no national telethons to raise money for these wounded warriors? Liberal celebrities can raise money for every stupid Liberal cause out there, but not for the troops that protect their butts.
Prayers up.
I have contacted John Gonsalves of Homes for Our Troops. I recommend all Freepers to email him to to get his attention, we can donate money to them it helps others veterans as well.

(just joining the dots...)
I pray to God...
Write the name Joseph Briseno, and remember it; not merely as a prayer, but as a promise. This is the Word of God - Joseph Briseno will walk again...

I pray you are right that he walks again. And that all the boys out there are kept out of harm’s way. And the Brits and other coalition forces too. They need our prayers. And the innocent victims of the bombs and guns, the young children with a whole life ahead of them. They need our prayers. And the families whose men have been taken, so that they have no way of feeding themselves. They too need our prayers.
May all their suffering be reduced for them.
