NEWARK, N.J. The yearbooks were finally printed and ready to be picked up by students at Newark's East Side High School but not before some officials snapped open their correcting pens to edit out a picture of two males kissing.
This was not art class, but staff afraid of parental backlash used markers to color over the picture, censoring it from every copy of the 2007 yearbook before distributing it, MyFoxNY.com reports.
Described as "illicit" and provocative by Newark's superintendent of schools, Marion Bolden, the photograph depicts a kiss between 18-year-old Andre Jackson and David Escobales.

NAMBLA has instructed in some of their older material that children have to be ‘gotten to’ before they are 8 y.o.
Yes, I read it earlier.
And now I just read post #34, and I read through the thread you linked in #35. I’m glad parents are fighting back. Thanks for the ping.
Cal, you mentioned homeschooling on another thread as an option to escape the leftist indoctrination in public schools. But, the truth is, I’ve found that at least 50% of the homeschoolers here in NJ are Far Left, Michael Moore types. So, you even have to be careful with your child around THEM. Not even the church groups are safe; I don’t know if you’d remember the story, but I myself was accused of bigotry by a group of “Christian” homeschoolers when I said I would never read “Heather Has Two Mommies” to my kids.
So, it seems we’re surrounded here in the Garden State, no matter what we do. :-(
N.B. I think these propaganda films have been shown to NJ kids for a long time, just under a different name. Six years ago, the video the third graders in my district were shown was called “Family Life”.
Amen, metmom!
Hang in there. You’re doing right. It’s tough to swim upstream but the consequences are eternal.
I think so, too. :-)
I remember you telling me that story (homeschool/left) last year.
Bump
That is exactly the argument for showing videos and teaching this to children in elementary school. The Women’s Media group and organizations like them (SIECUS) are monitoring what’s going on here.
The “diversity consultant” hired and the rest of these groups are stating that it’s too late to undo the damage done by parents when the kids reach middle school age so it’s imperative to reach them in elementary school, when they’re young enough to be influenced.
These advocacy groups are concerned with indoctrinating young children (because their agenda isn’t really working on middle and high school students). They’re not getting the result they want at that level so they’re focusing on the younger kids now.
Fortunately, most of these kids come from families who aren’t buying into it so they won’t really reach them no matter what age. However, young minds are easily influenced so parents here are battling this indoctrination. It will be interesting to watch how it all plays out. I’ll be very disappointed if this agenda succeeds. I can’t see any current admin or school board member stay in office if they don’t listen to the parents and taxpayers/voters of this community.
