Does this article point out that Catholics judge politicians by their cover and not by moral content?

Are is this just wishful thinking by some who have sold their souls to the Devil.

This so called nun is absolutely wrong.

Maybe she is a Catholic like Osama Obama is a Christian with Muslim roots.

Depends on just how “Catholic” they are. If they are practicing Catholics, it will be harder to get them to vote Democrat, except in the Northeast, and deep in the Midwest, like Illinois, where for some reason, folks vote like their parents did. The Democrats will try hard again to ignore their abortion stance and stress the ‘social justice’ aspects of the party.

Sure, if you put asside their contempt for human life, support for abortion, redefinition of marriage and the family, support for government promotion of homosexual sex in public schools, general contempt for traditional Christian believers, otherwise the Democrats are a perfect fit for Catholic believers...

a “cafeteria Nun” seems a little beyond the pale.

Unfortunately, since the 70's, most communities of religious women have been dominated by feminist thinking. This makes it much more likely that they'll support abortion because they see it as a justice issue for women; totally disregarding justice toward the baby. Or if they don't LIKE abortion, they 're willing to ignore the issue because they're giving more weight to the 'social justice' issues, like poverty and peace, so they naturally gravitate to the Democrats.

This goes a long way toward explaining why the older Orders of religious women are dying out. They have very few young members. Most young women, if they are truly interested in giving their lives to the Lord, are not going to bother with orders who are barely even Catholic. They are going to the newer orders who are faithful to the Church and are under the headship of the Pope.

Well, the Democrats never had me, in the first place; and it’s for sure they aren’t going to “win” me for anything. Good grief. Talk about hubris.

Anyone who supports Roe is pro abortion. Not "pro choice" but pro abortion.

And hates the Constitution as well.

And democracy too, for that matter.

You have nailed the feminist, pro-abortion position of many nuns. My sister teaches religious studies and works closely with a number of nuns in her parish. Her stories about pro-abortion, anti-clerical, socialist nuns are truly frightening. They have filled her with their stories of dumb pastors, social justice, and anti-Catholic positions.

Simone Campbell

Campbell sounds and acts about as Catholic as Helen Prejean does.

Winning back Catholics? Well they can wish in one hand and shit in the other and see which one fills up first.

Liberalism and faithful Catholics are diametrically opposed.

Of interest is that the GOP has never nominated a Catholic for the Presidency. Now they have chosen to put Giuliani as the front runner. That has pretty much neutralized abortion as an issue to distinguish Republicans from Democrats. Catholic might well look at other issues like Iraq, jobs, and health care.

Any Catholic who votes for any Democrat has abandoned his religion.
