You know the odd things about this is the Wadhists are our best allies.
It like the situation in Orwell’s Animal Farm. The Whabbists doctrines SOUND good to people suffering the traditional chaotic, opessive “strong man” Govts of the region
However, as the Afganies under the Taliban, and the Iraqis in the Al Qeda areas have found out, the Fanatics are very bit as oppressive and brutal as the political thugs they replace.
In the long run the Whabbist are doomed to failure. They simply cannot build a viable social system for Govt out of their religious dogmas.
The question of concern for the West is, “How many of us are going to have to die before the sane Muslims finally put down this rabid dog of a movement”?
I fear the number will be many.
“You kill enough of them the rest realize the ideology is really a bad bad idea.”
The vast majority of the worlds Mulims already know that.
“However, as the Afganies under the Taliban, and the Iraqis in the Al Qeda areas have found out, the Fanatics are very bit as oppressive and brutal as the political thugs they replace.”
The interesting thing I’ve noticed over the years is, the Salafist get a great deal of support when they are...over there, somewhere else, but when they start killing cloose to home and Muslims see what living under their rule is like...well they start singing a different tune. Part of the reason they have the support they have is so many governments in the Islamic world are corrupt (and don’t work very well. And something we have to face is the Salafist’s are very very good at propaganda, and are learning from their past mistakes

The question is will we learn to play to our strenghts?
