The Talk Shows
Sunday, June 24th, 2007
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Sens. Trent Lott, R-Miss., and Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.; Cal Ripken Jr., former Baltimore Orioles shortstop.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Former presidential candidate Pat Buchanan; Rep. Luis Gutierrez, D-Ill.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Former New York Mayor Ed Koch; political consultant Ed Rollins; actor Sam Waterston.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Sens. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., and Jeff Sessions, R-Ala.; actor David Hyde Pierce.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet; Sens. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas, and Ron Wyden, D-Ore.; Dennis Ross, former U.S. Mideast envoy; Egyptian Ambassador Nabil Fahmy; Israeli Ambassador Sallai Meridor.
Bush has it easy compared to Reagan. There was no Fox, no Internet, and no Rush or talk radio.
Everything was filtered through CBS/NBC/ABC/PBS/NPR.
Except for C-span (if you could get it) you had to wait every 2 weeks for NR or Human Events, or read the WSJ editorial page to get an alternate view.
You could see a Reagan speech or his press conferences but the MSM Filtered *everything*. Reagan was almost brought down by "Iran-Contra" which was IMO a made up scandal - just like Victoria Phlame.
Have a lovely meal, snugs!
“Cindy, few realize what the Islamists have planned for us on a worldwide basis.”
Yes, and that is not good.
Knowledge IS power.
Thank you tarheelswamrat.
Seeking the truth and speaking the truth can be difficult, but must be done if we want to survive as a nation.
You got that right, rod——thanks.
Keep in mind that the post covers only a few of the ways to go.
What we do not know, MNJohnnie, is how much was falsified back then.

There is more instant criticism of media output these days, but I am a witness to the bias in reporting all the way back to the post-WW II years. In the early days of TV, I attended meetings and then saw how the meetings were portrayed by selective camera angles, and selective choice of soundbites on the evening news, to sell to the viewers what the TV crews and producers wanted people to see and hear, not a faithful representation of the contents of the meeting or lecture.
LOL. Odierno...another one of my favorites.

Mine, too, and a whole lot sharper than Wolf Blitzer!
America does not want "...your tired, your poor," because they are a drain on the national economy.
America is building a *wall* ferpetessake to keep "wretched refuse" from crossing the Mexican border!
And America does not want "huddled masses yearning to breathe free": what a joke! The DHS would definitely have a view on that.
And America is doing all she can to deal with her own "homeless, tempest-tost" in every metropolitan city, let alone asking for others from overseas.
If ever there were an irrelevant symbol of what America stands for, the Statue of Liberty truly takes the cake.
Come join the party. Bring a friend.

but that many of the liberals, judging by the callers, are paid operatives working from the democrat playbook who are reading the spin of the day.
&&&&&
This was certainly proven today, when I heard a bit of the replay of this morning’s call-in.
Host: We go to a caller on the democrat line.
Caller: Is this cspan?
Host: Yes, caller go ahead.
Caller: This is the democrat line, isn’t it?
Host: Yes, caller, what did you want to say?
Caller: What is today’s topic?
Host reiterates question of the day: [Cheney bad]
Caller rambles on about getting out of Iraq.
******
I am not kidding!!!!! This is what I heard. The man sounded like an elderly African’American. It must have been his “duty” to dial in today.
Only problem is Talk Radio got too successful. NOW the egos of the host, not their political doctrine, get all the air time. Now it all about what the Host personally feels on every issue. Forget any sort of Conservative message getting out via Talk Radio since their titanic egos in the Business only want to talk about their personal emotional whimsy.

Your whole post was spot on!! Should be a ribbon winner for this week! I’ve gotten to the point where I count the seconds if I do hear the President’s voice on an audio “news” clip. Seven seconds seems to be about what the ABC radio news team give him - followed, as you say, by immediate criticism, often by a longer soundclip by an opponent.
Spitting on the sidewalk is breaking the law too. Difference is that spitting has a fine attached to the crime while coming across the border does not.
There’s a star for your night!

Neither do we for that matter.
Absolutely free market since much of the regulation is to protect the gummit/business from lawsuits. The gummit is not the solution but the cause of most of our problems.

Wow MJ have you been taking steroids?? Great post!
Pray for W and Our Troops
Okay you may want to take that up with any one of the Fred supporters. I was laughing over a FRiend’s comment and have made no endorsement.
And fix it later??
Oh for petes sake
Ah the old slaveholder cliche. Pablo you sound more like Cesar Chavez than a conservative. So you and Rush are against Minimum Wage for Americans but for Minimum Wage for Mexicans. Great logic.
Not a liberaltarian but a Conservative who values capitalism more than dogma.
Pray for W and Our Troops
