http://www.crossville-chronicle.com/local/local_story_172234222.html Russians with 105 pre-paid cell phones draw attention of police. This story caught my attention. What is with all the bulk cell phone buyers?

Good points all.

But the Feds, not the telephone company, are doing all the work.

Actually, the more pertinent threat for terrorist/criminal activity is probably Echelon since it doesn’t require a wiretap order (like Carnivore does) and listens for content all the time. Don’t know how it is implemented for cellphones through.

Maybe it isn’t.

That, as well as people who don’t want to yap constantly on a phone as if it’s their life support system. Some people just want to have a phone available if they’re expecting a call & want to be able to leave the house or for emergencies without having to commit to a monthly bill with a contract.

There already is. Virgin Mobile requires registration & tracks all activity. Everyone you called & everyone who called you, the date the time as well as the duration of each call.

You call a line the Feds have a tap on and they get your digit spill.

Everyone in your gang has a throwaway. Just before the minutes are up, you send your number to your group as a text or voicemail.

You wrote: "...I found it at the very bottom of an interior pocket of my laptop case. I had “searched” the case previously. (Note to self: when you think you have thoroughly search something, that a break, then search it again.)"

You're not the guy who "found" Vince Foster's suicide note in a briefcase that had already been "searched" are you?

“Russians with 105 pre-paid cell phones draw attention of police
Charges filed in Monterey; Homeland Security contacted”

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Two Russians arrested in Monterey last week in possession of 105 pre-paid cell phones may have been the same pair who attempted to purchase the inventory of cell phones at a Crossville business earlier in the month.

Stanislav Legkunets, 19, of Belleville, MI, and Konstantine Mkbitarian, 47, of Romulus, MI, were taken into custody by Monterey Police after an incident at the local Family Dollar Store on E. Commercial Ave. in Monterey. The two told authorities they are natives of the former Soviet republic of Georgia.

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “According to receipts found inside the vehicle, the 105 cell phones had been purchased at various locations in Kentucky and Tennessee. In addition to the phones, police also found a Dell laptop computer and $6,000 in cash.

On June 2 Crossville Police Ptl. Danny Harris filed a report after talking with local management of the Family Dollar Store in Cumberland Plaza. An employee told police that she had been having contact with three men who spoke with Russian accents who had purchased Trac phones from the store. The last transaction was May 20, according to the report.

A tag number for the vehicle in the local incident was traced back to a Virginia address.”

Once the call hits the switch (CO or MSO) it is open for collection.

But, picking out the one thread you want from a massive skien it a *bit* of work.

The Russian “mafia” in the USA is solidly involved with every possible illegal money earning activity including furbishing the needs of terrorists - of whatever flavor.

Hispanic gangs like the “13”, with chapters all over the country are also reportedly becoming increasingly involved in providing logistic support to Islamist jihadists.

Have you been watching how the Arab nations are distancing themselves from the Palestinians?

Take a look on AntiMullah, just below a video of Kennedy singing in Spanish.

Nope.

The only way I would be found anywhere around a Clinton or anyone associated with them is the same way Vince Foster was found.

Dead.
