You’re post is right on, this bill would be dead and buried if it weren’t for Trent Lott and McConnell. I know the WH is pressuring them to go forward with it but Bush being a lame duck and with an approval rating of 26% there’s no reason anyone in the Senate on the GOP side has to go along with him.

It’s not over yet. 86% of Republican senators voted against cloture last time. trouble with the GOP is that 20% are liberal RINOS and or liberal Trojan horses. to punish the 80% who vote the right way against Amnesty, for a fence, against taxes, against CFR for the actions of the posers is not only unfair but will just destroy the GOP which is the Mccain liberals intent.

The way to help things is the work to defeat any individual that votes for cloture or for Amnesty not to generalize the whole GOP and thus give total power to the Democrats who with their 200 million foreign 3rd world voters will turn the U.S. into socialist Venezuela.

When the democrats come take you or your family away like Chavez , Castro have done who cares about blaming the GOP then? People take their freedom and prosperity for granted until Democrats will take it away.

Wait until this bill passes then you can blame the individual Republicans and Democrats who voted for cloture or to pass Amnesty. Why bash and target those that voted against Cloture by generalizing? They do the right thing and still get bashed. Sessions, Hutchinson, and other Republicans who are voting against cloture are not tied to the hip to Lott and McCain and are not responsible for what Lott does.

Why blame the whole GOP for the action of a few liberal Trojan horses like McCain, Lott?

Is it too wild for me to theorize that politicians lie? Is too much of a stretch for me to theorize that McCain and or Lott are liberals as their votes and actions show who call themselves Republicans in order to get elected and or destroy the GOP from within like a Trojan horse?

Because it is the leaders of the GOP who are shafting us.

And the leadership of the GOP was declared as the “leaders” of the GOP by the other elected GOP’s. The leadership could be taken out with a mere party internal vote in the Senate or House. Tomorrow. The non-leadership members of the GOP Senate caucus could call a meeting, take a vote and that’s all she wrote for the leadership.

But they don’t.

My point here, which you’re just not getting, is that the Senate GOP has it completely within their power to end this right now, without having to engage the Democrats or “clay pigeon” processes or any of this crap. If they have half a grey cell in their heads, they’d be looking at the polls, their stacks of mail, their email, phone messages, donor fall-off, etc — and they’d be doing an about-face rather quickly.

But they’re not, because they’re both spineless and brainless.

Democrats are a threat to my beliefs, way of life, my freedom, my country and my family. And I will support anything that may be an obstacle to these socialist villains. Hillary and Democrats want to shut down talk radio, take profits from oil companies, socialized healhtcare, and bring in hundreds of millions of 3rd world poor people (importing poverty for votes ). that is pure evil.

I thought Democrats controlled the Senate. Democrat Reid is the Senate leader. Reid can keep bringing this bill up for cloture votes. So the Republican leaders have no say on this all they can do is vote on cloture. How can Republicans tell Reid not to bring this bill up for a cloture vote?

Democrats not only have a majority in the Senate they also have allies in the liberal RINOS who number at least 10 , McCain, Graham,Lott, Snowe,Lugar, Specter, Hagel etc..So liberals have complete control over the Senate. This is a powerful coalition the RINOS and Democrats who have a majority form a super majority and what they want they get. that is the problem. There are several good senators like Sessions, Cornyn, Hutchinson and the others who will vote against cloture. You can’t blame them for Lott fooling a majority of them into thinking he was a conservative Republican. Lott has fooled the people of Mississippi for a long time also. Lott is part of the Republican leadership.

RINOS are secret agents for the Democrats and they are the ones messing things up. You can’t do anything if 20% of your ranks are the enemy that has inflitrated you. that they were able to kill the bill 2 weeks ago is a significant achievement. Hope they can do it again. and if someone kills this bill it will be Republicans in the Senate or house not socialist Democrats. Blaming the good 80% of the GOP for the liberal 20% is not the right thing to do.Blaming the 20% and pointing out who they are is the right thing to do

Plus it’s not over yet. wait till the votes. If Republicans vote against Cloture at 86% then the might kill the bill. there is no one on earth that will get the 10 RINOS in the senate to vote against Cloture. So the democrats have the votes with the RINOs alone (51 + 10).People's mistake is thinking that the RINOS like McCain are real Republicans and not democrat agents .

Campaigning against any INDIVIDUAL that votes for cloture will help.

You forgot McCain and Kennedy.

And LOTS of senators want this bill, they just don't want to have to vote for it.

VATICAN CITY – A senior Vatican cardinal on Tuesday condemned the building of walls between countries to keep out immigrants and said Washington's plan to build a fence on the U.S.-Mexican border was part of an 'inhuman programme'.

From the article you linked on the Vatican opposition to walls between peoples, nations, cities, neighborhoods, etc...Isn't Vatican City considered a "fully walled enclave" within Rome?

Well, it isn’t “considered” a fully walled enclave — last I saw pictures, it was a fully walled enclave - in the physical, real sense of midde-age cities.
