As a Documented American out of the shadows, it's so wonderful to hear that the number of arrests at the border is going up! The only bummer being the arrested are Border Patrol Agents. Maybe they can get amnesty.
The pro-amnesty set love accusing Documented Americans who oppose amnesty for Forged-Documented Americans of using the word 'amnesty' to 'distort' the 'debate'. The amnesty ninnies, like Johnny-one-notes, crank out the same ol' lame 'legalization-is-not-amnesty' agitpoop no matter how slowly and gently you explain what the phrase 'instant legalization' means -- amnesty.
Yet, mention any problem with our current "immigration system" and their default "solution" consists of giving amnesty to 20 million illegals first. Up to one-fifth of Mexico's population has invaded the United States -- amnesty will fix it. Massive backlog of LEGAL immigration applications -- amnesty for the illegals. Over 4,000 people invade America every day from Mexico -- amnesty. No employer sanctions for hiring illegals -- amnesty. No border enforcement -- amnesty. Not enough Border Patrol agents -- amnesty. Fence not built yet -- amnesty. No border -- amnesty. Global warming -- Quick! More amnesty!
Since they can't raise taxes (over a veto) to screw up the booming economy and stock market, liberals fear they're running out of poor, low-skilled, ill-educated people to vote for them, which is why they can't wait to fill their voter rolls back up with millions of amnestied illegals becoming citizens.
Just a few weeks ago, liberals tried but failed to surrender to al-Qaeda, now they want to surrender to Mexican rule. Libbies love the idea of a "two-state solution" to the Israeli-Palestinian situation, so let me go on record as loving the idea of keeping a two-state solution to the U.S.-Mexico situation. Mexico and America -- two states living side-by-side in peace, with Mexico not invading the U.S. anymore.
Now we hear that 'key senators' have agreed on a wonderful 'plan' to provide a quick $4.4 billion for "border security" in exchange for moving the "Immigration Reform" bill off that big slab of ice in the morgue and onto the Senate floor. Immigration expert Lindsey Graham said "The moment the presidential signing pen meets the paper these funds will be available." The moment Lindsey starts talking like that, you know it's the hot flashes again -- something that afflicts women her age. So sad.
As part of the 'deal', Republicans get a chance to offer amendments and see them go down in flames.
So, lemme get this straight: Ted Kennedy's 'Comprehensive Immigration Reform' bill already had border security, didn't have border security, now has border security, would've had border security except for the money, so $4.4 billion for "border security" will be paid for by millions of illegals who come here because they have no money but can be counted on to pony up billions because these lawbreakers will suddenly discover how great obeying the law is, and, don't worry, just because we've always lied about border security doesn't mean we're lying again this time, and, don't worry, the fence is roughly 1,600 miles too short but you get lights and cameras and high-tech gadgetry to watch the illegals invade and, besides, high-tech gadgetry costs more than simply building a fence. Give us guest worker/Z-visas/'path to citizenship' and -- cross-our-hearts, hope to die -- we'll give you existing law! And we promise to 'enforce' for real this time, just as we haven't done for decades. And Islam is a Religion of Peace.
But, showing its serious commitment to border security, Congress last Friday rejected a proposal to build an 854-mile, double fence 'mandated' by Congress last fall. Surprise, surprise! The fence plan was voted down, 272-149, during debate on a bill liberals say will make America really safe again. To prevent any future fence-building, House Democrats passed more than a dozen new rules, like: Fence builders must "make every effort to minimize impacts on Wildlife and natural resources; the Secretary of Homeland Security must also consult with state and local authorities on fence construction; and the Department must submit to Congress a detailed report on each segment of fence or 'tactical infrastructure', this to explain the fence is or isn't better to vehicle barriers or video monitoring," (Special Report with Brit Hume, 6/18). For those of you wondering, this is what Comprehensive Fence Reform looks like. Over 1.4 million illegals sneak across the porous border from Mexico every year -- no, you wouldn't want a fence. The House bill calls for more Border Patrol agents so they can get arrested if they act like Border Patrol agents. As part of the agency's recruiting effort, prosecutors are jailing agents. Jose Alonso Compean and Ignacio Ramos are in the pokey for violating the precious human rights of a Mexican drug-runner's butt by shooting it. Meanwhile, 600,000 alien criminals have yet to be deported. Alien criminals murder 4,000 Americans per year, commit 25% of the rapes and other violent crimes. These must be the good, hard-working alien darlings we keep hearing about.
But if you're looking for the story of 'Immigration Reform' in a nutshell, the '07 Mexican Amnesty bill epitomizes it. Every few years, Congress says, 'the system is broken, needs to be fixed,' then passes new Comprehensive Immigration Reform to reform the previous Comprehensive Reform that failed to reform the previous Comprehensive Reform that didn't work.
In 1986 the 'system was broken, needed to be fixed,' so the pols rolled out the '86 Immigration Reform Act, or Amnesty Act, which promised tougher border security and workplace enforcement -- both of which mysteriously failed to appear. Except for the amnesty part. One of the legislation's biggest achievements was the '93 bombing of the World Trade Center. The operation's head honcho, Mahmoud Abu Halima, came out of the shadows, got legalized as a seasonal farm worker under the act, which enabled him to travel overseas for a little 'job training' in places like Afghanistan, where he got trained to bomb the WTC.
Four years after the '86 Immigration Act, the 'system was broken, needed to be fixed,' so the pols rolled out the 1990 Immigration Act, which Amnestied another "160,000 spouses and minor children of aliens amnestied" under the '86 amnesty, (source: Numbersusa.com). Another 350,000 illegals "initially disqualified from the (1986 amnesty) because they had traveled abroad while in the U.S. illegally (now qualified) for amnesty under proposed settlements in lawsuits resulting after the 1986 amnesty," according to Numbersusa.com.
Four years after the 1990 Immigration Act, the 'system was broken, needed to be fixed,' so the pols rolled out the Amnesty of 1994, designated to sunset in 1997, extended in 1997, followed by the 1997 Nicaraguan Adjustment and Central American Relief Act (NACARA Amnesty), followed by the 1998 Haitian Refugee Immigration Fairness Act (HRIFA Amnesty), followed by two more amnesties in 2000 (source: Numbersusa.com).
Now add to that heap the undead '07 Mexican Amnesty bill and the country's on amnesty overload. Even if this corpse gets tossed to the House, all that awaits it there are embalming fluid and a burial. With polls showing the Senate bill pulling around 20%, pols flipping voters the bird or blowing them off with the usual yawn-o-rama boilerplate that the border can't be sealed without amnesty and that we need more laws to ignore are wrapping the rope around their own necks. Sign on to amnesty and you're doing the career dance of death if you're in Congress from one of those marginal districts and even in run-of-the-mill 'safe districts' your long-term prospects could be up for grabs. Even pols trying to stay in the shadows on amnesty are finding out that ain't the way to go either. Suits me!
And, from Pakistan, the wimpy, jelly-spined 'Can't-Secure-The-Border-Without-Z-Visas' set just got another kick in the butt with that new video showing those cuddly little Muslim suicide bombers at their lovely graduation ceremony vowing to see off the West. Illegal immigration is a big deal because, six years on, 9/11 is still a big deal and whole phone book-sized 'bipartisan' "Comprehensive" reforms larded with amnesty poison pills won't fit into Joe-Six-Pack's rational version of the solution -- i.e., seal the border, jail the bums hiring illegals -- no matter how hard the A-list heavies pushing amnesty try to sell it.

I decided we are making REAL progress, however. This evening on Brit Hume’s show on FOX. Mr. Krauthammer, finally, allowed as how it was, PROBABLY, “immigration” that was causing U.S citizenry to be so disenchanted with Congress. I could have stood up and cheered!! After months of totally ignoring the issue-—he’s finally noticed 80% of us don’t want amnesty. Now that’s a breakthrough!

One problem with this situation is that these three were educated in American schools and spent their entire life in America, except for a few years of early childhood. If these men can be made into enemies, then so can ‘born’ Americans and “documented” Americans. They really are not the best example of the failure of local law enforcement.
And the point is??? IMO, there are plenty of other examples and this is probably not a bad example of general failure of immigration enforcement and amnesty. These 3 terrorist suspects were children of illegal alien border crossers in 1984 and likely benefited by the 1986 Amnesty. The parents were at least as much an influence on the criminal offspring as the crappy US education system and the crappy effects of the Sanctuary aspects of the area they resided.

The point is reporters try to conjure an image of people similar to the 9-11 hijackers, - adults abusing the entry rules - when the three from Fort Dix were little kids when their parents brought them to the US.
These brothers are a product of American influences. I did read a while ago that their father could have taken advantage of the 1986 amnesty but “he decided against it.” Our government had twenty years to kick him and his family out. It is an excellent example of the quasi-amnesty that our federal government through twenty years of administrations has awarded people who chose to live in the US without “written” permission. The actual permission has been totally tacit!
Our beef is definitely with our federal government. And they are finally feeling the heat of American citizens against their unspoken/underthetable looking the other way as whole cities have become populated by people who settle here without “papers.”
Example: The DC Superior Court Building has a huge animated sign in its atrium lobby -— which flashes between WELCOME and BIENVENIDOS.
