HH: Now Senator Kyl, why the attacks on talk radio from your colleagues, Senators Lott and Graham? It doesnt, in any event, it cannot possibly help the party, and it cant help the bill. What are they thinking?
JK: You know, I hate to speak for my colleagues, but I can suggest in the case of Senator Lott, because Ive talked to him about it, is just said in frustration. If you look at it from his standpoint and mine, there is so much misinformation, and by the way, a plug for you, whatever your feelings on the legislation, youve tried very hard to get facts out. I mean, you just asked me a series of about eight questions that are designed to elicit information.
HH: Right.
JK: Well, not all talk radio is quite that constructive. And Im afraid that theres some of my friends who, for ratings or whatever purposes, have chosen to ignore some of the facts, and stress some things that were incorrect.
GTMA...I hate being late to the party! LOL
They did it in 2004 and 2006 and this year candidates like my Senator are not bothered by idle threats. This WH has lost their ability to use the bully pulpit to get what they want from Senators like Inhofe and Dole.
In fact, I think I would take it to be bank on Harris. Another thing that bothered me was the timing of the Foley deal with the Istook page release of emails and then Rove comes in to do a fundraiser for Istook. Tin foil hat permanently in place.
Unfortunately, to liberals, the rule of law is to be invoked when convenient and disposed of when their sympathies are triggered.
Katherine was lambasted for upholding the law. She did her job right.
Sometimes doing the right thing isn't the popular thing.
