We've been under a lot of ALERTS lately, but we got a fun one this evening. "CELEBRATORY GUNFIRE ALERT."

Seems the Iraq national team is playing Syria in some big championship tournament in Amman right now. (Of course, we are for Iraq all the way!)

If Iraq wins, the locals will shoot machine guns in the air. The game should be ending just about now. Either that or it has just ended and Iraq lost. We don't know yet.

That is something I don't understand. I often wonder how many people have been injured or killed when the projectiles come back down. Do they not believe in gravity?

We're waiting to go to an MWR event (Blues Night) which is being held outside. We just checked the internet....the game's not over yet.

I don't want to be outside if there are going to be bullets whizzing all over the place. I was here in '04 when the Iraq soccer team did very well in the Olympics (bronze medal, I think.) It was NUTS outside every time they won and advanced.

Best you do.In Philadelphia they do it on New Year’s eve in the inner city and people do get injured and in some cases die.I’ll never forget going up the mountains one year in Doe season.I’m not a hunter so my daughter and I stayed in the trailer.At dawn we could here the gunfire.We stayed inside all day because it sounded so close.You never know.
