Rudy Commits to Reforming Washington
http://www.joinrudy2008.com/commit.php ^

Posted on 06/21/2007 9:54:06 AM PDT by truthfinder9

While most of the Democrat and Republican Canidates are playing their political games, Rudy Giuliani is committing to the policies that other Republican canidates and politicians have abandoned. On the heels of McCain accusing us of being "anti-immigration," Trent Lott saying we are controled by talk radio and the president trying to force through the horrible immigration bill that no Americans want, it's time conervatives wake up and support Giuliani:

****

Last week I unveiled my optimistic vision for the future of America. Nothing energizes people more than doing the impossible and my 12 Commitments to the American People are intended to show all Americans what we can accomplish together. As I travel across the country over the coming months, I hope to continue my dialogue with all of you about how my 12 Commitments can bring accountability and results to Washington.

Today, on another great trip to Iowa, I outlined my plan to practice fiscal discipline and cut wasteful government spending.

Bureaucrats in Washington, aided by runaway Congressional spending and bloated appropriations bills full of earmarks for special interests have created a culture of irresponsibility, allowing non-defense spending to increase by 72% over the last decade. Now, more than ever, Washington needs someone with experience and vision to bring strong leadership and restore fiscal discipline.

I have an immediate plan to bring accountability to Washington, cut wasteful government spending and restore fiscal discipline:

Force all Government Agencies to Identify between 5% and 20% in Spending Reductions

End Earmarking and Start Budgeting like a Business

Reduce the Federal Civilian Workforce by 20% through Attrition and Retirement

Propose a Constitutional Amendment Establishing a Line-Item Veto

Use GAPStat to Evaluate the Effectiveness of Federal Agencies and Eliminate Wasteful Spending

When I first became Mayor of New York, most people thought the city was ungovernable, tax-and-spend policies left me saddled with a $2.3 billion dollar deficit, and hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers had lost their jobs. Through a combination of fiscal conservatism, economic revitalization, and 23 tax cuts,

I turned the deficit into a multi-billion dollar surplus. With my experience, and with your help, imagine what we can accomplish in Washington.

However, I can't do any of this alone, I need your help. Will you sign my petition to show your support for all my 12 Commitments and my comprehensive plan to bring fiscal discipline to Washington? Together we can move America forward.

Sincerely, Rudy Giuliani

**********

Rudy's 12 Commitments to the American People

I will keep America on offense in the Terrorists' War on Us.

I will end illegal immigration, secure our borders, and identify every non-citizen in our nation.

I will restore fiscal discipline and cut wasteful Washington spending.

I will cut taxes and reform the tax code.

I will impose accountability on Washington.

I will lead America towards energy independence.

I will give Americans more control over and access to healthcare with affordable and portable free-market solutions.

I will increase adoptions, decrease abortions, and protect the quality of life for our children.

I will reform the legal system and appoint strict constructionist judges.

I will ensure that every community in America is prepared for terrorist attacks and natural disasters.

I will provide access to a quality education to every child in America by giving real school choice to parents.

I will expand America's involvement in the global economy and strengthen our reputation around the world.

Mercifully, his only reforms might be as the head of the Dept of Interior or some such cabinet post.

Uh, yeah, sure. Rudy is pro-abort. Most pubbies haven't abandoned abortion. Rudy is pro-gun-control. Most pubbies are pro gun-rights.

Rudy is against the immigration bill, but only because it doesn't have his beloved national ID card and database. Otherwise, he's hunky-dory with shamnesty.

Rudy - the wrong man at the wrong time.

If I want a gun-grabbing liberal in the White House, I'll vote for Hillary, thank you very much.

The AFL-CIO and AFGE (American Federation of Government Employees) have been waiting for a definitive statement on whether a candidate pledges to slash the federal work force. Here's Rudy's.

The sad thing is you Bushbots don’t seem to care that Bush, McCain, Lott et. al. don’t care about your supoprt in the past, do what they want and have abandoned conservative principles on spending, etc. Rudy’s they only one standing up for conservatives, but you folks and your Hate-Rudy slander campaign must want Hillary to win. Because she will of we don’t have a strong candidate who stand up to her Hate Machine. Think wishy-washy, global warming, fake finance reform McCain can win the country? Or the Mass. governor that did little to reform his rabidly socialist state? Wake up people.

Speaking as a retired federal employee, here's what I foresee happening as a result of Rudy's pledge to cut the federal workforce by twenty percent. Any Republican on the rolls will be harassed by Democrats and Union members to "vote your job". Democrats in positions of power within each agency will begin jockeying for positions to maintain their fellow Dem's jobs within those agencies and set up Repbulicans to get screwed and set up for "attrition". Dems always protect the jobs of fellow Dems. Anyone with Republican sympathies will get screwed - and there's nothing the person can do about. Sure, they can file an EEO complaint and spend thousands with a lawyer, but the bottom line is, you can't fight city hall. Even if a federal employee goes thru the extensive EEO process or the Merit Systems Protection Board, the result will be the same in most cases: the Dems in the agency win, and the person is out (has to accept demotion or early retirement or something like that). Their last resort option is to file a civil case with the government and face a trial where the DA supports the government agency's positions. At that point, it doesn't matter if you're Republican or Democrat, the government will win.

I don’t see how Rudy ever stood up for me, but then, I doubt that I would have liked Mussolini, either.

Bushbot? Yeah, right. I'm fed up with Bush, fed up with Congress, fed up with the blue-bloods of this GOP and their anti-American agenda. And that includes Rudy.

Don't ever try to pass Rudy off as a conservative. He's a North-Eastern liberal who's against guns, for abortion, and has no idea how blue-state America feels.

Rudy is NOT the GOP's answer to Hillary. He is Hillary in drag.

I'll never vote for another Bush, another GOP RINO, another North-Eastern blue-blood. Never!

Funny how you left Fred off your little tirade. You know, the guy an overwhelming number of freepers support. The guy who now leads Rudy in the Rasmussen poll - without even having entered the race yet. The guy who is pro-life, pro-gun, anti-global warming - unlike Rudy. The guy who is border security first - unlike Rudy.

Oh, and the vast majority of Rudy critics are not Bush bots at all.

Most of those so called "conservatives" opus'd out a while back. I just call them liberals, that's what they really are.
