For weeks, Americans were told that there are only two options for dealing with the nation's illegal immigration problem: stay with the status quo or accept a "grand bargain"--a tenuous behind-closed-doors deal, first made public by The Heritage Foundation, which contained nearly 800 pages of flawed policies. In the face of overwhelming criticism from all sides, this legislation was withdrawn from the Senate.
Now, an altogether new bill (S. 1639) has been introduced by Senators Ted Kennedy and Arlen Specter. It seems to incorporate the previous legislation, with some amendments. After it is read into the Senate calendar on Wednesday, the Majority Leader will be able to proceed to consider this legislation anew at any time; debate is likely to follow later this week, with a final vote very soon thereafter.
This schedule will afford lawmakers even less time for consideration and deliberation than they had before. It will deny them the various procedures long associated with America's deliberative lawmaking process--hearings, testimony, committee debate and amendments, floor debate, and the possibility of further amendments. Instead, according to reports, this legislation will proceed based on an altogether new and expedited procedure designed for the sole purpose of forcing the bill's many ill-conceived policies over legitimate minority objections.
As it has before, for the sake of open deliberation and public education, The Heritage Foundation is making this legislation publicly available to encourage widespread debate and discussion. Heritage Foundation analysts will be reading this legislation and considering its implications--as will everyone outside the confines of the narrow group that conceived it--as quickly as possible.
S.1639: The Secure Borders, Economic Opportunity and Immigration Reform Act of 2007

is the English number!
Seriously, are these people not the least bit concerned about an armed revolution with them being the first to go?
>>This new tactic is: WE KNOW BETTER THAN YOU. WERE SMARTER THAN YOU. SHUT UP AND GO BACK TO BE DOCILE CITIZENS WHO KEEP VOTING US IN OFFICE.<<
They got a lot more brazen about that this year. They probably thought that way before, but didn’t want to say so. One of Rush’s radio callers got an email from Kennedy that said the immigration issue was too complicated for her to understand.
If these IDIOT politicians keep this crap up, this could start a civil war in this country.
Its as if they desire it to happen. Go figure.
[(along with that fat old drunkard)]
Add ‘murdering’.
bump
Absolutely! Throw the damn thing out. I wouldn’t trust a miserable drunk like Kennedy to do anything right.

Sen. Sessions: Immigration Bill Fails to Secure Our Borders
Tuesday, June 19, 2007
WASHINGTON U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) made the following comments regarding the $4.4 billion included in the immigration bill Sen. Reid reintroduced yesterday:
If we assume that the Administration and the bills drafters were serious about their commitment to enforcement, the recent promises of guaranteed funding are unnecessary.
The only significance of the promised funding is to effectively say were going to fund what we already promised to fund. The $4.4 billion will not build additional miles of fencing, provide any new technology, hire additional agents or acquire more detention beds than already promised by the President and included in the bills provisions that trigger amnesty.
Let me emphasize that this money will do nothing more than fund the enforcement trigger in the bill, which was already a solemn promise to the American people. The real problem is that the enforcement trigger does not go far enough. It will not adequately secure the border or restore the rule of law.
The trigger remains very weak. It does not ensure and the mandatory spending does not provide for construction of the 700 miles of fencing already authorized by current law. The immigration bill only provides for construction of a total of 370 miles. A mere 87 miles of fencing exist today on our 2,000 mile southern border. Likewise, current law requires 43,000 detention spaces by the end of fiscal year 2007, but the bills enforcement trigger provides for only 31,500. The trigger does not require completion of the U.S. VISIT exit system, which is absolutely critical to ensure that foreign workers and visitors do not overstay their visas. To assert that these enforcement items are an assurance to the American people is disingenuous.
Most significantly, the $4.4 billion will do nothing to change CBOs conclusion that the bill will only reduce illegal immigration by 13 percent. CBO assumed the bills enforcement items would be funded when it published its June 4th cost estimate. If the Senate bill is enacted, CBO projects an additional 8.7 million new illegal immigrants will be in the U.S. in 20 years. These new promises do nothing to prevent that.
Sen. Sessions on Rush right now with guest hoist Rodger Hegecock.
Correction it’s “reckless driver, murder, hypocrite, liar, womanizing, miserable drunk” like Kennedy. We have to be accurate don’t you know. ;-)
Sen. Sessions said that new things in this bill. Date in-country now moved to Dec 2006 from May 2005. Bill with come to floor only with amendments hand-picked by Reid & Co. Still 24 hr background check. He complained/explained the $4.4B funding ‘smokescreen’ (my words - his were different).
CALL! CALL! CALL! CALL! AND KEEP CALLING TILL THE LINES FRY!
WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! TILL YOU RUN OUT OF INK IN YOUR PEN!
Bombard the Democrats as well, especially the ones that ran on an anti illegal immigration plank and the ones in marginal districts who could be vulnerable. keep pounding on them. This is a bipartisan issue not a Conservative or Liberal issue BUT AN AMERICAN issue.
Do we really need more reasons to call our representatives in Washington, D.C.?
Just say NO to Illegal Alien Amnesty!! Keep calling!! Its NOT OVER!!

I downloaded all 20M+ of the PDF file and after the first 40 pages. I can see I’m in for some very difficult reading. Bring back the 1954 WetBack program from the Eisenhower era.
Maybe that is the idea ...
Obviously they are not. As long as our current standard of living stays on par ,they are right , there is nothing to worry about. However another recession like in the thirties would place them at risk.
Right now we couldnt start an armed revolution even if it were a good idea,.
What is needed is a voters revolution where any incumbent now running is voted out. That would do wonders for this country and send the message without arms.
More likely, committed. And he’s not alone...
