From New Hampshire to California, American Indian leaders are speaking out more forcefully about the danger of climate change.
Members of six tribes recently gathered near the Baker River in the White Mountains for a sacred ceremony honoring "Earth Mother." Talking Hawk, a Mohawk Indian who asked to be identified by his Indian name, pointed to the river's tea-colored water as proof that the overwhelming amount of pollution humans have produced has caused changes around the globe.

Whats wrong with a little cultural genocide? Thats what the left is tryin to do with Wasp culture in this society right now!!! They wont allow no angry white males! They even give em Rittlen when thays younguns in the leftist governments institutions of indoctrination right today!!!There is a time for humor, but not when it obscures a necessary point that too many people don't see: the Left is inconsistent in its loyalty to "science and reason." It picks on West Virginia hillbilly snake handlers but celebrates "indigenous pipples" sticking pins into chickens to appease spirits. And these two areas of the Left, though they take turns in slogging "Bible-thumpers," never confront each other. I have tried to make that point all during my eight years of being a FReeper.
It's also weird to here Lefties condemning "Europe" and then getting so many of their "progressive" and "liberating" ideas from eighteenth century Europeans (when they aren't celebrating shamanism). What, didn't the "revolutionary" "third world" have any such philosophers?
Even Al Gore now has a book out claiming to defend "reason" from the "fundies." I wonder if he ever intends to hit Black chr*stians over the head with this rhetoric?

We have a small number of Indian tomatoes (red on the outside, red on the inside) around the reserve here. All Al Gore disciples preaching communism.
Their main goal is to seduce white hippy chicks and take money from white wannabe Indians.

Wull ZC, you sure made your point here today and it's certainly not funny that you had to wait around the halls of FreeRepublic.com for eight years just to get someone to listen to your point!!!
Now what I wanna know is are you supportin hillbilly religious folks that you believe are consisent in their mysticism, or are you blastin liberals who are clear around the danged bend, or are you sorta put out with mediocre moderates who've looked at life from both sides now, or are you really upset that the third whirled is so busy trying to feed it'self that it doesn't have time to study obscure, cryptic and yes, even mystic philosophy?
Now would you be talkin them black Coptic Egyptian Christians, er what?

The "tea color" is [usually] due to natural processes - like decaying vegetation in/under the water source -- producing tannic acids Which is great for you to emerse yourself in if you have a sunburn.
The lake at Moss Park in Orlando looks like someone filled it with Lipton tea because of the tannic acids. It was like that 25 years ago when I swam in it. Very common in Florida.

Of course it is tannin and quercitin, etc.
Sometimes it is from iron-metabolizing bacteria.
They were here long before both Gore and "Talking Bull".

Good guess! I personally found that line (”We can have safer gunssssss, and saffffffer booolitsssss”) even funnier than a Bible under Bill Clinton’s arm.
after a while, I got my brother in here: “Safer Guns”...
What a pant load THAT lady was. Come to think of it, weren’t they all?

This is too stupid to take seriously.
As savages, it was quaint, perhaps even "cute"
As political activists, they are an unwelcome joke.
