The quotes coming out of the Israel leadership have gone from shocking, to absurd, to down right funny (and I am laughing AT them and not with them).

“Israel will not stand idly by and allow Fatah to slaughter Hamas members in the West Bank like Hamas did to Fatah last week in the Gaza Strip”

Why the bloody hell not?

Pass the popcorn, I say!

This is the IDF’s chance to take them both out.

There should be no West bank and no Gaza

If the civilian Israeli Gov will not go along , form a new
Israeli Gov.

Come on IDF ! Do your thing....

I didn’t know that Hamas was friendly to Israel.

Maybe Israel should demand the return of their kidnapped soldiers first and the end of rocket attacks on Israel before they consider defending Hamas? I mean — has Israel lost its mind?

This will also confuse the heck out of the bbc.

They won’t know how to spin it.

Then both sides start murdering eachother thinking that they are really Jews in disguise.

Brilliant! Or Crazy it’s a much needed change from the status quo.

Has every leader in the world lost their minds?

When your enemy is busy killing himself, you don’t stop him! If anything, you do everything possible to facilitate his self destruction.

Once hamas and fatah have culled the respective herds, there will be fewer terrorists killing Israelis.

On the other hand, how many people will killed by the terrorists that the Israeli government rescues from their well deserved deaths?

I agree with Israel’s action. It will reaffirm Israel’s right to take care of problems on its own land, and Israel should oppose the most recent, slippery Arafat. I don’t want to see any more propaganda from or for the more slippery, treacherous Islamo-fascists. Leave only the obvious terrorists visible, and don’t leave this anti-Israel world of nations with any more excuses to support the enemy.

Israel to Defend Hamas in West Bank!!

Seems to be a different story Gaza.... Israel plans attack on Gaza

"ISRAEL’s new defence minister Ehud Barak is planning an attack on Gaza within weeks to crush the Hamas militants who have seized power there. According to senior Israeli military sources, the plan calls for 20,000 troops to destroy much of Hamas’s military capability in days."

Actually, what he said was about not letting the situation in the West Bank become chaotic like it is in Gaza. He didn’t say anything about protecting Hamas.

It’s a good strategy, really. It is far better if your enemies blow up one at a time, rather than both together.

That is, if the West Bank manages to remain relatively orderly, while Gaza descends into bloody chaos and anarchy, then Israel can focus on Gaza without worrying too much about a two-front (or three or four front, if you include Lebanon and Syria) opening up.

The bottom line is that Fatah is just as villainous as is Hamas, only giving lip service to peace. So if they end up permanently divided, then Israel wins.

Hopefully, Hamas will be as onerous and vicious to the people of Gaza as was the Taliban to the Afghans. May it be the law of the gun, the rule of whim and cruelty, insanity and viciousness. And may every sane Gazan flee to Egypt to get away from it, and stay there.

The final result may be that the only people left in Gaza are banditos, fighting among themselves over scraps.
