Please feel free to forward this link to anyone you know who opposes Amnesty for Illegal Aliens and would like to send a FREE FAX to their Senators urging them to oppose the Senate's Amnesty for Illegal Aliens Bill (S-1348)!!!
I’m sensing that some FReepers are starting to get pissed off with me about these posts. If so, let me know...
For many of us, this is waste of time. Why would I write, phone or fax Durbin or Obama?
Pissed-off? Nope! GO HARDER!!
Yer doin' great, pal ...................... FRegards
every time I use the representative link, I enter the zip code (all 9 digits) and end up with a blank screen. Is there another link, I’d like to send letters by mail.
I believe that you should send a letter to every senator and representative. Use the postal service to let them know this is not just irrational response. Here is a copy of my letter.
Senator Dole
555 DIRKSEN SENATE OFFICE BUILDING
WASHINGTON DC 20510
Dear Senator Barr,
I was for the war until I realized that this AMNESTY bill is being addressed before we have secured our borders.
You and Mr Burr have been negligent in your duties as our senator. It has now come light that you have not carried your oath of office responsibly. I have lost confidence in your representation and it really doesnt matter which side of the vote you are on.
You personally neglected your responsibility for not pushing for border protection before we went to war in Afghanistan or Iraq. Allowing the president to place border guards in prison when they are trying to do their duty without a word is unforgivable. You say you are protecting us by sending our troops to another country, they use their life and you cannot even use your tongue to protect us.
Your commonsense is lacking and again this has been brought to light. I truly feel sorry for your inept abilities and wish you luck in further endeavors.
I doubt that your will read this, but I felt that mailing this was important enough for your attention.
NO CONFIDENCE
I need a link of Representatives. The link I have ask for zipcode and then produces a blank screen. If anyone has names and addresses for North Carolina reps. please pass it this way..
THANKS FOR THE HELP
Here is the copy of a letter I’m about to mail,
Address needed here
Dear Representative ,
I was for the war until I realized that this AMNESTY bill is being addressed before we have secured our borders. Without secure borders we truly cannot analyze our problem, irresponsible.
Representative from North Carolina have been negligent in their duties. It has now come light that you have not carried your oath of office responsibly. I have lost confidence in your representation and it really doesnt matter which side of the vote you are on.
You personally neglected your responsibility for not pushing for border protection before we went to war in Afghanistan or Iraq. You silently allowed the president to place border guards in prison when they are trying to do their duty without a word. This is unforgivable. You say you are protecting us by sending our troops to another country, they use their life and you cannot even use your tongue to protect us.
Your commonsense is lacking and again this has been brought to light. I truly feel sorry for your inept abilities and wish you luck in further endeavors.
We need responsibility in Congress.

“You and Mr Burr have been negligent in your duties as our senator. It has now come light that you have not carried your oath of office responsibly. I have lost confidence in your representation and it really doesnt matter which side of the vote you are on.”
EXCUSE ME... IT DOESN”T MATTER HOW THEY VOTE?!? that is not a responsible or conservative or adult thing to say. Individual actions matter.
So you are basically telling them that your attitude won’t change whether they vote one way or another. HOW DOES THAT CONVINCE ANYONE TO CHANGE THEIR VOTE OR ENCOURAGE OPPOSITION TO THE BILL?!?
Sen Dole and Sen Burr have been among the GOOD, SOLID GOP SENATORS (ABOUT 30 OF THEM) FOR DOING THE RIGHT THING. BLASTING THEM WITH THE KIND OF NEGATIVE LETTER THAT LOTT, KYL, MCCAIN, GRAHAM, VOINOVICH, SNOWE AND SPECTER DESERVE IS A MISTAKE.
It didn’t help that you misnamed him “Senator Barr” (Burr).
Nor did it help that you bring in an irrelevent point (the war).
IF YOU WANT TO ENCOURAGE THEM, TELL THEM YOU APPRECIATE THEIR VOTE AGAINST Z VISA AMNESTY AND FOR “ENFORCEMENT FIRST” APPROACH.
You are right about one thing: A posted letter is a good way to get attention.
“All of the above?”
ALL OF ABOVE
http://travismonitor.blogspot.com/2007/06/immigration-roundup.html
My Letter:
Senator Domenici and Staff,
I am writing to ask you and Senator Domenici to vigorously and publicly oppose
the inherently flawed Senate immigration bill. A cloture vote is a “YES” vote on the bill itself.
Senator Domenici needs to vote “NO” on immigration bill cloture votes, or
he will be grouped with the notorious back-room deal-makers concocting this stinker.
The Senate immigration bill is opposed by a more than 2 to 1 margin (Rasmussen poll): Favor 23%, Oppose 50%
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/support_for_senate_immigration_bill_falls_49_prefer_no_bill_at_all
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/poll_voters_want_smaller_steps_to_immigration_reform_with_focus_on_enforcement
“Sixty-nine percent (69%) of voters would favor an approach that focuses exclusively on securing the border
and reducing illegal immigration. Support for the enforcement only approach comes from 84% of Republicans,
55% of Democrats, and 69% of those not affiliated with either major party.”
There is a consistent message in polls: People want the legal immigration system to work;
we want the border secured and immigration laws enforced, and we do NOT want unlimited
immigration, legal or illegal. The Z visa amnesty/legalization will undercut these pillars, and
voters do not trust the Congress and Government to keep promises on enforcement
that were broken by the 1986 amnesty. To repeat that travesty is a terrible and flawed idea.
The American people no longer trust Washington on this issue; we know ‘triggers’ are a
hoax, especially since making the triggers more real (Coburn Amendment) was not passed.
The border fence bill was passed (over 80 Senate votes) and signed last year; so why now is
the border fence completion hostage to this wider immigration bill?
The Senate bill is opposed strongly because it pretends to uphold border security
and enforcing the law, but it actually undermines them completely with
the Z visa amnesty/legalization program and its many ‘gotchas’.
This Z visa legalization is indeed amnesty, it forgives the real punishment (deportation). The ‘fine’ is less than
H1B lawyers and fees cost (I work with H1B immigrants in high-tech), so it is more of a processing fee than a fine;
the program is set up for fraud, with pathetic documentation requirements, just as in 1986; Cornyn’s
amendment to close off amnesty to absconders and all criminals was denied; this bill allows permanent
(since Z visa is renewable until green card) residency instantly to 12 million illegal immigrants,
majority of them without High School degrees, massively shifting our immigration patterns to the
least skilled and most likely to be dependent; there are no language requirements for 10 years into
a visa that leads to permanent residency. Senator Sessions has compiled 20 loopholes in the
bill, most related to failures in the Z visa program.
This amnesty repeats the mistakes of 1986 on a grand scale, as Senators Cornyn and Hutchison have warned.
It undermines rule of law in immigration, invites huge fraud in amnesty applications and further illegal
immigration via weak document requirements and a mere 24-hour turnaround on provisional acceptance;
crowds out higher-skill legal immigrants; creates a massive increased burden on taxpayers
($2.5 Trillion estimate from Heritage) along with unfunded mandates on states and local Governments.
And for what, exactly? CBO has indicated that illegal immigration in the next 10 years
will still be significant with this bill - a huge amnesty, but more illegal immigration. Pathetic!
I am disappointed that Senator Domenici has decided to oppose good amendments thus far,
such as Senator Cornyn’s that tried to forbid criminals, gang members and absconders access to
Z visa amnesty; he opposed also the Coburn Amendment that tried to make the triggers real;
his opposition to the Allard Amendment that tried to take away an unfair preference for illegal
immigrants in the visa process; and the Coleman Amendment, which facilitated Federal/local
law enforcement. I urge a reconsideration of the Senator’s position on this.
The Z visa amnesty is a slap in the face to legal immigrants, taxpayers,
and anyone who cares about the rule of law.
Please support every amendment possible to restrict, fix the loopholes or eliminate the Z visa program.
But without reformulating this bill as an ‘enforcement first’ bill that does without amnesty, there is only one recourse:
The Senator should vote “NO” on cloture in any case as a matter of course.
This bad bill is far worse than no bill at all.
One last point: Senators are living in a bubble dream-world if they think only
‘anti-immigration’ people oppose this bad bill. I am married to an immigrant and work with immigrants daily.
I support legal immigration, including more employment-based immigration focus with a merit/point system,
along with curtailing/ending ‘chain migration’. I support limited temporary worker program as part of legal immigration.
I and most legal immigrants that I know oppose this bill strongly.
Hear, hear!! Please, everyone send something like this to their representative and senators. See my post above.
Thanks for the link. I just bookmarked it.
Maybe you could start a thread about this Senate/House staffer e-mail directory from outsourcecongress.org, if there hasn’t already been one, alerting as many FReepers and Lurkers as possible about the existence of this directory.
Now we can directly e-mail the staffers (particularly the senior ones) instead of using the generic e-mail form.
Your welcome. Yes, it doesn’t hurt to keep faxing, calling, e-mailing, etc., even if your Senator/Congressman is a RAT!
Keep the pressure on Domenici. According to NumbersUSA, he is one of the Republicans that the Pro-Amnesty GOP Senate Leadership is targeting/pressuring to flip their cloture vote from NO to YES.
Good idea.
I will change wording because of the circumstances that are happening. I called Senators specifying that they vote to close down all discussion until the fence is built. Very politely. Thank you for your input, this is one thing that does make this forum good.
Now, I would like to personally say, I would like for them to shut this down, but they failed on their duties and that did not go unnoticed.
They have been negligent in voting for two wars and leaving the back door open. I didn’t agree in voting against it, but based upon facts now in hand (which they had since Reagan) I now feel that Ron Paul has the high ground. With media blackouts as obvious as they have been, I’m not so sure a lone voice would have been heard. But if other senators closed the door first before voting for the war, we would not even have this conversation.
“Sen Dole and Sen Burr have been among the GOOD, SOLID GOP SENATORS (ABOUT 30 OF THEM) FOR DOING THE RIGHT THING. BLASTING THEM WITH THE KIND OF NEGATIVE LETTER THAT LOTT, KYL, MCCAIN, GRAHAM, VOINOVICH, SNOWE AND SPECTER DESERVE IS A MISTAKE.”
I’m sorry that I disagree that they have been good solid gop senators. They left the house unlocked and have placed us in greater danger. Of the illegal aliens after 9/11, how many do you think are terrorist. We have to pay for the disaster they have created by keeping their mouth shut and not informing the public of grave concerns. You children, my children are at risk because of incompetence.
I truely feel for their lack of character, and feel their lack of responsibility should be ground for them to remove themselves from office.
But for the greater good, I will hold my opions patiently.
