Giant Sucking Sound: New Free Republic Third Party?
June 16, 2007 | Vanity

Posted on 06/16/2007 4:26:37 PM PDT by Frobenius

Hear that giant sucking sound -- It is the sound of a rapidly growing political vacuum on the Right in this country...

Free Republic is an amazing resource with many thousands of members.

Why not harness that resource and start our own third party with *REAL* conservative principles.

The Republican Party may have left a lot of us recently - but that does not necessarily mean that we have to leave our conservative principles.

Out of this large principled group, there has to be someone that is able to create a new party and make it a new force in national politics.

Qualifications: REAL conservative; Clean background; and the ability to clearly Communicate ideas to the American people.

Any takers?? You would have the beginnings of an organization with thousands of volunteers already in place in every state of the Union.

I’m with you on third parties. The only thing they serve to do is to set back the agendas they claim to want to advance. I was merely jokingly replying to a post asking who “we” should put up for various positions.

No, but replacing feckless elitist gutless Rs during the primary is much better than having a D there.

We have the government we allow and deserve.

Not so fast. The elites cheat to win, and everyone knows it. The problem is proving it, and even if you do, so what? They stay in, because the entire System is behind them.

I think you're both right. If I may, AD repeated a well-known axiom about elected government. That means, of course, that unless the people wake up and start to use our heads, we get self-serving, and sometimes crooked representatives.

Pray4 is also correct. What to do? I vote we keep trying to educate our fellow voters so everyone will know who to elect, and who not to elect.

Yep, I agree with the strategy. Any money or effort we want to expend will be most effective in the primaries.

I’ve been saying ever since the ‘06 Midterm Elections that it’s time to form The American Conservative Party.

third parties put in power the exact people we want defeated....

look folks....we AIN'T gonna get all we want.....we ain't gonna get an anti-abortion, anti-tax,anti-gayrights, anti-illegal, etc etc candidate because no such person has ever existed nor will in the future.....

my suggestion is to think locally....try to elect decent conservative LEANING people from the school board to the city council to the county commissioners to the state legislators to the governor ........

lets grab back the local politicos and we will be in the position to grab back the bigger positions....

A third party won’t be necessary should 12 to 30 million illegals be given amnesty. From what I hear, we’re going to have to battle to keep the party we’ve got.

How 'bout the Free Republican Caucus?

Personally, I like "Considerate Conservatives!"
(What we consider good/moral/constitutional/traditional/sovereign, etc., we adopt and promote! What/whomever we consider against those principles, etc., we shun! Other than that, we simply have fun!!!)

If we did that, we wouldn’t be allowed to comment on Federal races 60 days before an election.

"How about we just vote for conservative Republicans, and fix our party?"

Better than trying to start another. - But it isn't going to be easy; beating RINOs in the primary is tough because they have the party's money to fight us with.

Every 10 years or so, the Rockefeller socialists (RINOs) make a move to grab the GOP. Why give it to them? It’s our party with the structure and equipment already in place. Kick out the RINOs. Let THEM form a new party.

That may emerge to be the only option left to end the neo-conservative liberal takeover. Voting for someone who does not represent your opinions is a wasted vote and only encourages the further morphing of the elephant into a RINO.
