President Bush yesterday told Hispanics to step into the middle of the immigration debate and make sure senators who have been bombarded with calls from opponents also hear from those who support the bill.
"There's a lot of emotion on this issue, and it makes sense to have people from around the country come and sit down with members of Congress to talk rationally about the issue," he told those attending the Hispanic Prayer Breakfast in Washington yesterday.
He was speaking a day after the bill, which collapsed last week, was revived by the top Democrat and Republican in the Senate.
Majority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat, agreed to put the bill back on the Senate's schedule next week, and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, Kentucky Republican, agreed to limit the number of amendments Republicans would offer.
But roadblocks are already popping up.
Sen. Jim DeMint, South Carolina Republican, said he will block any attempt to send the bill to an eventual House-Senate conference, complicating the usual path a bill takes to reach the president's desk.
"Ted Kennedy has sold us another bill of goods and I don't trust him to make even more changes...

You truly are illiterate.
Talkin' about illiterate! You're the one having problems articulating a comprehensive post defining your personal anger at me the world or whatever the hell it is.
I want to help you!
Mr. Bush, I hereby decline to come to the same conclusions you do...I prefer to pull rabbits out of my ass with a better answer....
I rest my case. Go bother someone else.
I agree.

Thank you freedom defender.
To late. We are organizing an FR prayer circle for you as we speak.
I understand your concern.
It is a problem.
Right. I agree. Like CottonBall message board aholes. Rock on!
Surprisingly the kids in school are not allowed to speak Spanish on the school grounds.
Our principal a naturalized U.S. citizen says he does not support this Amnesty bill.
In fact many of the Hispanic teachers have told me that they find what is going on in the Senate to be very insulting to them.
Those people who have fought for their rights to U.S. citizenship can tell an shamnesty bill even though it is presented as a Red Hearing.
Thats herring.....
“...It was a steely, sneaky look like he was turning into someone else...I kid you not.. I was concerned but brushed it off as him just being tired.”
Well, liberals have been calling him Smirk (or derivations thereof) for years now. It troubles me to think they might have been right, when I thought they were just trying to stir up trouble at the time.
Yes thanks, it’s late.
What the hell is your problem? If you are Mexican I will be happy to personally kick your sorry ass out of the country. If you are a pimple faced little turd, which I suspect, go back to school and learn something.
In Spanish? ;)
p.s. It's t-o-o
Am I missing something here?

Both sides of my wife's family ( her Father's folks, and her Mother's ) came here legally, from Germany.
One set before WWI, the other before WWII.
Her Dad- who was, obviously, German, fought German soldiers in Italy, having volunteered to fight for his new country.
If you want to see a former Democrat get so hopping, spitting mad that she can hardly talk, just mention granting "amnesty" to my wife...
This "issue"-- which a man I used to support, walked the streets for in 2000 and 2004, and formerly admired is pushing-- cuts across party lines, ideology, age, social station, and just about any other common delineator of people you can name.
One example- my black friends are livid- just livid- over the special treatment being offered to illegal aliens.
I could list many others, but I will just say I've had it with "W," the Repubs, and anything associated with compromising my formerly great country's sovereignty.
I will support individual candidates- even Democrats, if they will represent me.
I have not decided what to do about solicitations from The Stupid Party yet... I may print and send them some of these:
Or, I may just cut several ounces of roofer's sheet lead flashing and stuff it in their postage-paid envelopes... every damn one of them I get...
Nothing the Clintons did, made me this angry.
PS- I see Trent Lott- that panty-waist Poobah of the Senate- want to censor dissent now:
Trent Lott: 'Talk radio is running America. We have to deal with that problem'--Here, let me correct that for you Trent,
"Talk radio Free Speech is running America . We have to deal with that problem."
Who do these arrogant bastards think we are? Their slaves? How dare they speak to us in these terms! We are Americans! Im mad as hell!
TRENT LOTT LASHES OUT AT TALK RADIO: Mickey Kaus notes the irony. Lott's a pretty good indicator of what's wrong with the GOP at any given moment.
Yes, I am Madder than Hell, Itself, and I will move Heaven, and Earth, to see every one of these arrogant, uncaring Sons of Bitches permanently unemployed.
