On Monday, June 11, 2007, we added our most recent co-sponsor, Rep. Wayne Gilchrest of Maryland. The FairTax Bill now has 61 co-sponsors in the House (H.R. 25) and 4 co-sponsors in the Senate (S. 1025) more than any other tax reform bill that has been presented!
Within our News & Developments section of the Web site, we maintain a Co-Sponsor Gallery where we highlight our newest co-sponsors and also provide a list of all sponsoring representatives with an active link to their individual Web sites. We thank each of them for their public endorsement of the FairTax!
We also maintain a Congressional Scorecard that reflects each elected officials stance on the FairTax. This is updated regularly as we receive new information or copies of correspondence expressing their comments on tax reform. Although we are actively involved in educating the presidential candidates on the FairTax, it is vitally important that our current elected officials understand and support our issue for they will be the ones to ultimately pass the bill and send it along to our new president.
We are pleased to add Rep. Gilchrest to our growing list of co-sponsors. As our momentum continues to push forward, we look forward to managing an expanding roster of FairTax advocates!
Fair Tax ping!
BUMP!
Can I be on this ping list please?
Great news indeed. 61 supporting sponsors in the House makes near 15%. That percentage has to be taken seriously especially knowing there are at least that many sitting on the fence ready to join when the time is right.
15% and fence sitters are alot of bargaining power.
As the movement grows it will become more and more acceptable to join the movement as it becomes more mainstream.
We’re getting closer to enactment. I will give it three years, two years into the first term of President Thompson.
And it will be sweet to have the Sixteenth Amendment repealed in 2013, the 100th anniversary of the unAmerican monstrosity known as the ‘Income’ tax.
After having done that, I have no other choice but to feel outraged. I will not vote for, support, campaign for, or donate to any candidate for federal office who does not support the FairTax, including the complete abolishment of the IRS and a repeal of the 16th Amendment.
I forgot to post
AFTF
for those looking in from the Restore the Republic movement.
I want so much for this to pass! My reps are sponsors, how can we get to the rest? Freepers should activate as much as they are on the Shamnesty bill.
Welcome aboard!
Welcome to the fight.
Just make sure you pay the taxes and stay out of the KGB IRS crosshairs. You don’t want to be labeled a tax protestor because you are not protesting taxes, you are petitioning the manner in which you pay the taxes.
The FairTax gives us a choice to save, or to spend and then pay tax. The UnAmerican Income tax leaves no choice except not to earn income which is for most no choice at all.
Therefore you are not protesting taxes, you are petitioning for your choice when to save and when to spend.
Given the FairTax choice the timing of our individual choices will be different for everyone and the average will keep our government funded.
To become aware of a greater but related movement that will change your life, spend an hour and a half watching a quality documentary film on the net:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1656880303867390173
You will need a high speed connection.
When you grasp the full import of the following declarations:
I OWN MYSELF
I OWN MY LABOR
I AM A FREE AMERICAN
then you will have complete understanding.
And keep in mind we are not radicals, kooks, anarchists or any other derogatory name that the Income taxers throw at us.
We are Americans with insight and knowledge as to how Americans enjoyed being Americans for more than a century and a half.
Remember that when the income tax was first imposed, Americans did not embrace it, most did not know of its existence as it applied a max rate of 7% of income over $20,000 to less than 1% of the population.
The income tax grew slowly and Americans were conditioned to accept it, even convinced it was their moral duty.
But Americans always paid taxes, but not as an income tax. They paid tariffs, excise taxes, property taxes.
The income tax was initially only for the extremely wealthy.
But slowly over many decades the government shifted the income tax to the middle class while the wealthy exempted themselves via bribes paid to Congress for legislation that created havens for their businesses.
And finally keep in mind that the ‘Income’ tax DOES NOT PAY for :
Schools
Roads
Medicare
Social Security
and that defense was always throughout American history carried by corporate taxes.
In today’s federal pie defense outlays are 23%. Corporate tax revenues are 11%, borrowing is 12%. Borrowing and corporations pay for defense. Borrowing dilutes our dollars which represent our labor. Borrowing is also known as an inflation tax.
The income tax is used to service the debt, to pay interest on the debt and to pay for waste.
That the Income tax is used to service the debt is not an accident. It was planned from the beginning.
The ‘debt’ is not debt. It is created from thin air by the Federal Reserve. The debt is translated to inflation. The ‘Income’ tax only serves to dampen inflation at the cost of taking away our freedom.
The Federal Reserve is not federal. It is no more federal than Federal Express. It is a private banking cartel. Bernanke is the liason between the Cartel and Congress.
The Cartel was founded by the likes of JP Morgan and others like him in a sellout by Congress in 1913. It was a quid pro quo in exchange for passing the Income tax.
Morgan and others got the concession to own a money press, to create money from nothing based on a reserve percentage at one time backed by gold. If the United States had $20,000,000 in gold and the reserve was set at 20%, then the Cartel could print $80,000,000 of new money from nothing and lend it out to their network of banks in return for interest; interest income from something created from nothing.
The Income tax is used to pay the interest on the government part of that lending of money from nothing.
If the Federal Reserve were to be shut down, the government would pay no interest and there would be no need for the Income tax, except to redistribute wealth consistent with purposes outlined in the Communist manifesto.
But shutting down the Federal Reserve will bring on a fight. Americans that vote to shut it down will be branded radicals.
But they will be right in line with our Founding Fathers who fought hard to prevent the establishment of a Central Bank.
The Federal Reserve and their media allies will try to convince Americans that they will be doomed if they vote to shut it down. That is just the Cartel trying to save themselves. Americans will be better off without the Income tax and its patron ‘Federal’ Reserve.
And why is it critical to fight this long entrenched system now?
Because the system is failing and will destroy our sovereignty with it.
Yes, it is destroying us because we are aging and we can’t sustain it. We need more babies, not third worlders moving in on us but more babies and more families. And to have more babies with intact families we need a tax structure that they can grow and save in. The FairTax is the way forward.
Remember you are not a radical. You are an American.
Again seek to understand, to grasp, to internalize, to proclaim to all those around you the following:
I OWN MYSELF, I OWN MY LABOR, I AM A FREE AMERICAN.
Good news.
BTTT!!
As another small business owner, I feel your pain!
And finally keep in mind that the Income tax DOES NOT PAY for :
Schools
Roads
Medicare
Social Security
Bears repeating!
Thanks Man50D -
It is getting closer...
I've been asking about his position on reform - but no answers yet. Do you have any info WRT his position on reform and HR25?
Welcome aboard Turbopilot. Wouldn't it be something if withholding were abolished and we all paid our taxes in cash like you?
