Great to hear the op has gone so well - sorry about the blood clot do they do daily injections to thin the blood after the op in hospital.

When dad was in though they took him off his blood thinning drugs they gave him this daily injection up to a few hours before the op because it does not remain in the blood like aspirin or other blood thinners it is just a short lived thing but usually prevents clots.

It is now standard practice in UK hospitals if you are fairly immobile or awaiting an operation that you have this injection every day.

Love that first photo in this post when he is waving as he leaves. Looks like he was looking at someone in particular. Very cute.

Thanks for the Dose, Jonny!

No .. nothing here in the way of blood thinning before surgery. But I sure had shots, in addition to the Coumadin, after this happened. Sure wish they had that practice here.

Very nice. I love old English poetry and recently found out that I may be descended from Chaucer. I will believe it when I see more info. Two sites on the net say he did not have any descendants after the 1500’s so have no idea where these 200 people got that information. Thanks for posting the link.

Hey there, Thank you for saying that. I had been beginning to think this was the alter site of DU. Some of the posters need to be kicked out. Sure, we are not going to agree with President Bush 100% of the time. I do not agree with anyone 100% of the time and I doubt if anyone else does. I am tired of people spelling his name jorge. That is not his name and I am sick of people spelling it that way. There have been people on this site whose only purpose was to cause as much dischord as they could and they succeeded to a point. I have been to other sites but none compare to this one. If I wanted all of this "hatred", I would just go to that other site. I am having bp problems right now due to all the stress I have been under for the last few months and I sure as heck do not need to come to this site and find all of the negative posts. If you do not have anything good to say, then do not say anything. I have always been a very positive person. Well, guess I was kind of forced into it after losing our daughter in 2004, my brother in 2006, my husband in 2006, my bil in 2006, my mom in 2007 and then my aunt in 2007. Besides all of those, I have lost 15 cousins since our daughter died.

I come here to get some relief from all of this stress but so help me, it is worse than being in a dem hog calling contest! Each tries to outdo the other and frankly, I am past sick and tired of it. It is time for action so count me in!!!!!! OK! Off my soapbox or sermon for tonight.
