Trent Lott: 'Talk radio is running America. We have to deal with that problem'
The New York Times ^ | June 15, 2007 | ROBERT PEAR and JEFF ZELENY

Comments by Republican senators on Thursday suggested that they were feeling the heat from conservative critics of the bill, who object to provisions offering legal status. The Republican whip, Trent Lott of Mississippi, who supports the bill, said: “Talk radio is running America. We have to deal with that problem.”

Sorry for that last post, the air got a little thin on my high horse and I left out a couple of words.

Very few things get me mad enough to shake like a dog passing a peach pit, but this immigration bill has done it.

This is a BIG turning point. Soon they will all be getting behind the idea. They will not listen to what the people want and insure us that it is for the common good. The real reason is that it threatens them.

Lott needs to get lost.

I believe (I could be wrong) that he's also in favor of the radio bill that would wreck online radio...

I would like the “fairness” doctrine invoked for both the House and Senate!

Ah, Trent, you know don’t you that the founders never envisioned that Congress would “RUN” the country. Really, tell us you know that.

“Bush, at the prayer breakfast, said, “We must meet our moral obligation to treat newcomers with decency

OK.

It is becoming (has been for quite some time) obvious to everyone that the President is being an enabiller for the other members of the "Blindfold Club" that can not see or hear 85% of the United States of American SCREAMING at them to deport the illegal aliens and NO AMNESTY. As we all know he is not really all that close to the end of his term as President but at his current rate of deterioration he will bring this nation to its knees in about one year. So... here is the President...

“Bush, at the prayer breakfast, said, “We must meet our moral obligation to treat newcomers with decency

Bush said in his remarks Thursday. “In other words, if you're worried about border security, you ought to be supporting this bill."

And the few sane representatives in government are letting us know what they are doing say…

Sen. Jim DeMint (R.-S.C.) “What they are doing is that they are holding the things that need to be done hostage for amnesty. There is no reason we need to grant permanent legal status to illegal aliens"

Republican candidate for President Rep. Duncan Hunter (Calif) noted, “The Department of Homeland Security has almost a billion dollars on hand now for the border fence and road and lights and sensors.”

At the same time, the rest of the United States of American is repeating over and over

NO AMNESTY

NO AMNESTY

NO AMNESTY

A Rasmussen Reports national phone survey conducted June 11 and 12 found that only 20 percent of voters wanted Congress to try and pass the Senate bill and sixty-nine percent favored an approach that focused “exclusively on securing the border and reducing illegal immigration.”

It is becoming (has been for quite some time) obvious to everyone that the President is being an enabler for the other members of the "Blindfold Club" that can not see or hear 75% of the United States of American SCREAMING at them to deport the illegal aliens and NO AMNESTY.

We now have a situation in which The President of The United States of America is not serving the nation and is insisting others in government to engage in government "by the elite" and NOT "from the consent of the Governed."

examples are...

This elite “club” of “rulers” that are roaming freely around this Nations capital pi$$ed off at “younger guys who are huffing and puffing against the bill” and referring to freedom of speech as “Talk radio is running America. We have to deal with that problem" is beyond the pale of nature of the Constitution of the United States. These are individuals (trent lott) that they are there at the pleasure of the American Citizen. The very same American Citizen that is hitting the 75% mark of NO AMNESTY BILL!

The question to be answered is, as I see it, is what are the options of the President and his "inner sanctum" to continue to rule by elitism and not from the consent of the governed?

How long can he keep up being a rouge President?

Is their a way to "censure" the issue of amnesty for criminal illegal aliens from congress and just let the President coast through till 01/20/08?

Can we reverse the situation and use the clear 70% majority to force deportation enforcement?

Can we use the clear 70% majority to force a proper double fence coast to coast?

With a clear 70% majority can we produce a Bill that induces an approach that is focused exclusively on securing the border, jailing (not fining) employers of illegal aliens and enforce deportation upon detection of illegal presence in the united States?

With a clear 70% majority is there any reason why we must be on the defensive?

I go to bed every nite thanking God for the internet and talk radio.

I think Trent Lott would be a great fan of Adolph Hitler. To paraphrase Hitler he once said “Blessed is the nation whose citizens are stupid.”

No it isn’t, you just can’t bring yourself to believe that our elected representitives are so corrupt. Trent Lott couldn’t care less about the Constitution but he should. Some of us have sworn an oath to defend it, against enemy’s both foreign and domestic.

Wow, what an incredible statement. This shows how out of control this government is. They want total control and the people are getting in the way.

Indeed. Tyranny on the horizon. Keep your powder dry.

Trent Lott: 'Talk radio is running America. We have to deal with that problem'

Yeah, Trent, you need to nip that First Amendment thing in the bud and save us from ourselves so you can do what you want in the dark with the rest of the GOP "moderates" (a/k/a liberals). Maybe if talk radio hadn't blown the whistle and given us a public voice, your fellow clowns would still be in power. And that's rally what's eating you, isn't it Trent Boy?

Lott's ilk has effectively killed the GOP. I have never been this disgusted with the government. At least Carter was a known liberal, and not a wolf in sheep's clothing like the clowns in the Senate.
