I stand corrected. I read it before and missed that “10 year” thing. It is still 10 years too long.

And when you couple that ignorance with the arrogance often found in the civilian-disarmament crowd, you have a continual threat to our most fundamental freedoms. Free speech, judicially-limited search and seizure, and the right to keep and bear arms are continually at risk. We need to be watchful as never before.

Nice to see common sense coming from the same paper that printed the names and addresses of ALL of Roanoke’s concealed carry permit holders last year. I wonder if this is still part of their penance and if they are still smarting from reduced circulation following that unconstitutional fiasco.

I really like the way you said that.

The “10 year” thing is only in the section title. It has no force of law. You have to analyze the changes to the US Code to determine if the da** thing sunsets or not. I seem to recall doing this before and determining that it did not. But best to check it out again, and I’m too sleepy for that right now.

Even IF the original bill contains a “sunset”, that is one amendment away from being permanent. Plus, the left is banking on a leftist President 10 years from now, just as they banked on Al Gore as President, to renew the old unConstitutional bill.
Ugh, we need to inventory all of our laws, dispose of the outdated/non-applicable/idiotic, and rewrite the remaining 100 at a level that is easy to understand and protects against subterfuge and nuances you mention.

That’s the thread I was thinking about (but didn’t mention) when I posted. Thanks - it exposes it to more people.

I believe that every gun owning patriot in the US should paint their targets in UN blue so we will be pick it out easily. Our future targets will be wearing helmets painted that color.
