It’s nice to see the stepped-up enforcement over the past two years. Not much of that has made the news (surprise, surprise)
It’s also nice to see penalties increased against employers who knowingly hire illegals.
And finally, it’s good to see the White House finally engaging the blogosphere.
Fines, background checks, payment of back taxes, renouncing gang membership, yada, yada, uh-huh.

To say that this legislation is better than no legislation is a complete lie. No legislation means you at the White House should be enforcing the old laws already in place and President Bush does not enforce current law on the border. I am sorry I ever voted for George Bush or supported him and I will never give another dollar to the RNC. Teddy for lifeguard!

Hey kristinn here’s an idea. If fences don’t work take the one down around the White House. That will save a few taxpayer dollars. Then all the illegals can come over and cut the grass, that will save even more.
In the history of modern American politics I cannot recall a case where a major political party has played a game of chicken with its primary base of supporters. But this is it and this is how it will play out-—
1) 2007 - Republicans go bi-partisan and pass an immigration amnesty for the estimated “12 million” residing in the U.S.
2) 2008 - Republicans are “surprised’ by major election defeats-—White House, Senate and House belong to Democrats.
3) 2010 - Democrats solidify holdings in House/Senate; tax cuts expire
4) 2011 - Democrats pass universal health-care and really raise taxes; extended family (15-18 million) of the “12 million’ are almost settled into the U.S.
5) 2012 - Democrats retain White House and majority in House/Senate.
6) 2013 - Universal health-care costs spiral out of control, Democrats raise taxes some more, economy falters
7) 2014 - Economy tanks, Republican gain seats in the election BUT IT’S TOO DAMN LATE!

Hey, maybe the left will find legitimate grounds to do what they really want to do , that is to IMPEACH G.W. Bush. After all, they might actually find some constitutional grounds for it as he would be derelict in his duty to protect the nation. Oh, the irony of that! And who would stand with him? He has lost the only friends he had left.
