It’s nice to see the stepped-up enforcement over the past two years. Not much of that has made the news (surprise, surprise)
It’s also nice to see penalties increased against employers who knowingly hire illegals.
And finally, it’s good to see the White House finally engaging the blogosphere.
Its also nice to see penalties increased against employers who knowingly hire illegals.
I didn't know this until now.
And while the immigration bill may have much room for "work", it is not an occasion to bash the President.
We should be dignified and disagree with him respectfully.
President Bush has done a lot of good for this nation. He isn't perfect, no one is.
Tell it to Ramos and Compean, and the illegal drug-smugglers granted immunity.
And, where's the fence we were promised?
etc., etc.
True. And you've got to like the fact the post didn't begin with "Hi, Bigots".
Nonetheless, I've no interest in discussing any "regularization of illegals" until after the federal government has conclusively demonstrated that they can -- and will -- secure the border and enforce employment laws. As well as monitor and control aliens with expired visas.
Give me three years of performance...and we can take a look at the next step.
The Bush administration will go down fighting those who are against illegal immigration, PERIOD! It drives me crazy to think that we the people are technically their employers and they continually give us the middle finger. Expose all democrats and republicans that support this amnesty bill and vote them out of office. Bush is a disgrace to this country.
