Tony’s a good man - but it’s his job to carry water for the administration... That said, Laura did good.

Tony’s a good man - but it’s his job to carry water for the administration... That said, Laura did good.......[and another poster:]The usual tony “snow” job was melted away by the blowtorch of Laura’s relentless questioning. Laura Ingram for VP!

How naive can one get?

The reason Laura can say things that make 'conservapurists' say "wow" is that she's not in a position to be held responsible for anything she says.

Tony was the same way before he "bought in."

Make her VP, or run for -any- office, and you'll have to turn on her too.

I like and respect Tony Snow, and I have sympathy for the position he’s in, but he was spinning like a top and Laura effectively called him on it. Her disgust was palpable, and I also found myself screaming “Just enforce the laws we’ve got! Why is that so damned tough?!”

Even on his radio program, before he was Press Sec, he was pro-illegals, pro-open borders.

He frequently did a handwringing defensiveness: "we can't deport 11 million people".

Tony was carrying amnesty water long before he went to the administration.

The acrimony that caused here is legendary stuff.

to me, Tony is another good works Christian like Bush who can't make hard calls on anything that requires realistic yet unpolitically correct actions towards minorities.

If these illegals were 20 million Ukrainians..they'd have been long gone....which woulda sucked since their women are much prettier.

Tony Snow was an amnesty/open borders zealot before he ever got the job. He’s not carrying water, he’s using the job as a bully pulpit for his own long held views.

To quote almost verbatim from one of his shows: “Wouldn’t you rather pay $40,000 for your home remodel than $50,000?”, or to reprint from one of his columns “Immigration is not the pox neo-Know Nothings make it out to be”.

Tony is a great fit for this job. As heard today on Ingraham, he is skilled at extracting a partial truth to argue for the fallacious whole, like “over a million were apprehended last year”, leaving out the 3-4 million that got here unimpeded, or the 600,000 adjudicated deportees who are still allowed to roam around the US. Or that the fence is not 11 but 76 miles (wherever that new number came from - it must include the single strand barbed wire section), neglecting the fact that by law the President was obligated last year to build 800 miles.

After this job is over, Tony will make a great biographer (hagiographer?) for George Bush. I wonder if the title will be in Spanish.

Tony Snow is not carrying water for the White House, he’s shoveling sh-t into the wind for the White House.

zbut it’s his job to carry water for the administration.

As much as I previously respected Pres. Bush, for an issue THIS important to America's future and stability, I would have to resign my Press Sec'y position.

Tony Snow, to me, has lost any and all credibility he once had.
