I like and respect Tony Snow, and I have sympathy for the position he’s in, but he was spinning like a top and Laura effectively called him on it. Her disgust was palpable, and I also found myself screaming “Just enforce the laws we’ve got! Why is that so damned tough?!”
“I like and respect Tony Snow”
I can second that, but Tony lost a bit of his luster for me when he championed sending Elian Gonzalez back to Cuba.
Ironically, Tony now wants to invite all of Mexico in, but he wouldn’t let one little boy have his chance at freedom.
A person of decency would quit his job rather than make blatantly fraudulent statements in public. It's not like Tony is a millworker who is going to go hungary if he resigns. Tony can quit and go back to his job at FoxNews or move on to other endeavors. He has a choice, and he chose to be a part of this sham.
Someone needs to answer your question. Why can't they enforce the laws on the books? It's hard to believe them when they've failed us so many times.
I wonder what people think when they see me ranting by myself in the car on the way to work. I seem to do that alot these days. Last week, when I thought we’d beaten back this monster, I was damn near high fiving myself in the car.
