Laura interviewed Tony Snow in the last hour of her show. In fact, she devoted the whole hour to illegal immigration. After her no holds barred interview with Tony (she wiped the floor with him!), she took phone calls and read emails that were generated in reaction to the interview.
This is MUST HEAR RADIO!!!
>>I agree! I always thought Tony Snow was very boring, but I got used to him from his days as a sub for Rush Limbaugh<<
I remember Tony Snow subbing for Rush.
When the word “impeachment” was first used in regard to Clinton, Tony was very much against it, and would ridicule callers who suggested it.
I remember him smugly admonishing us, “Look, folks, impeachment just isn’t in the cards.”
Soon after that, for whatever reason, Rush quit having him host.
Note to EEE: here, take your peek! LOL!
You’re very welcome. :o)
Tony sounded VERY condescending - you really captured his spirit well.
When he told Laura that her listeners are very important, I could swear he had his fingers crossed behind his back.
My thought was that Jorge's historical quote will be, "See you at the signing."
Much of what Savage says hits the nail on the head.
Ditto!
Amen
When he took the job, things didnt look so glum. Bush hadnt yet come out of the liberal closet.
...The days when it looked like the job might be fun.
This is an Administration and a Congress which is arrogant, duplicitous, and sefl-absorbed. America deserves better men (and women) than these.
Excellent!
Okey doke! :o)
You’re an American - you have the right to rant by yourself in your car!
Besides, *I* do it! :oD
Thanks, I don’t remember that. I thought Tony had just moved on to Fox, or something.
BTW, good posts on this thread.
Like I said, he who pays the piper calls the tune. But thats why working for an idiot sucks.
Yes, and lets make sure that that quote turns out just as wrong as his fathers.
Yes, notice the poll wasn't 85% of Republicans oppose this monstrosity, it's 85% of *AMERICANS*!!
the infowarrior
“By US law Elian was here legally”
Not quite. Elian’s inner tube was picked up in open waters not far from Florida’s shores. Our law (for Cubans specifically)say you can legally assume asylum only if you make it to shore.
That’s the law then and the law now.
Tony Snow is still inconsistent with his past advocacy of returning Elian to Cuba, but promoting illegal Mexicans ‘amnesty’ today. He fell for all that schmaltzy “The boy needs to be with his father” crapola when the father himself telephoned Miami relatives to raise Elian.
I appreciate your reply, but you’re not going to win any Elian arguments with me (check my handle). The Elian debacle is one of the cruelest tragedies ever hoisted by this nation. Clinton and Reno sent this poor boy back to a life of communism, and Tony Snow lent his words to the same effect.
I used to practice law. Your job is to be an advocate for a position. It's an honorable profession even though it is awkward at times to advocate something you think is stupid. Same for Tony. Presidents need to have a press spokesman who advocates for the President, even if the spokesman disagrees.
So take it easy on Tony. He's just doing his job.
I am taking it easy on him. I’m not the one saying I’ve lost respect for him or I’m disappointed in him. I understand he’s a professional sock puppet. It’s the puppet master who’s to blame.
Sorry, I misunderstood your post.
I think you are correct, however time is slipping away for the 2nd tier candidates, they have to make a move between now and the end of the year in a big way to be considered seriously by the general voting public.
