Laura Ingraham Takes the Gloves Off on Tony Snow
Laura Ingraham Show ^
| June 14, 2007

Laura interviewed Tony Snow in the last hour of her show. In fact, she devoted the whole hour to illegal immigration. After her no holds barred interview with Tony (she wiped the floor with him!), she took phone calls and read emails that were generated in reaction to the interview.

Ahh, thanks. He wants to change the whole structure of government. He *is* unusual, to say the least.

Where were all these border-bots during the 2004 election? 2000? 1996? 1992? Anyone? Bueller?
The so-called border-bots in California voted overwhelmingly for Prop. 187 over a decade ago. This issue is not new. Anything but.

Critical mass. What I have noticed during the nine years since I returned to Texas is how the work sites have changed. Now Mexicans—forget this “Hispanic” stuff—are now the straw bosses and even the contractors. It is getting so that one has to speak Spanish to handle a work crew.

That would give proponents of the bill a chance to explain why putting illegals in a more favorable position than those who play by the rules is not really amnesty.
~snip~
Fred Thompson - May 2007
I like what he is saying lately about illegal immigration, but his voting for chain migration bothers me. I also like what Romney is saying as well, so I don't think what they're saying NOW means a thing. Hunter and Tancredo have been consistent even before it was the 'in' thing.
To: Lauren BaRecall
I hate to see Snow in this position. He doesn’t deserve to be saddled with trying to dishonestly push Bush’s agenda on illegal immigration.
To: Sloth
what Thompson voted on >10 years ago has no relationship to what's being pushed today
I think it is relevant because it shows his true feelings. ALL of the Republican candidates are all of a suddent conservative, but we know they're just playing the game to win the candidacy. What they've done in the past is our only clue to what they really think and how they will act when they no longer need us (like Bush is doing now).
And even if it was over 10 years ago, it's the only data we have on Thompson since his political career was so short.
To: Argus
I like and respect Tony Snow, and I have sympathy for the position hes in, A person of decency would quit his job rather than make blatantly fraudulent statements in public. It's not like Tony is a millworker who is going to go hungary if he resigns. Tony can quit and go back to his job at FoxNews or move on to other endeavors. He has a choice, and he chose to be a part of this sham.
To: untrained skeptic
I hate to see Snow in this position. He doesnt deserve to be saddled with trying to dishonestly push Bushs agenda on illegal immigration.
If he opposes what he is saying, he can quit. If he had any sort of ethics or dignity, he would quit before he sold his soul. So, he either 1) agrees with Bush or 2) has no character. Perhaps both.

The more they push us away the more 2008 is slipping from their/our fingers...They are getting awfully close to critical mass...

That’s because Sen. Coburn faithfully believes in term limits. Read his book - Breach of Trust (How Washington Turns OUtsiders into Insiders) — he’s great. Wish he would run.

The reason I'm going back into Thompon's voting record is because I'm now apprehensive about voting for anyone without knowing their true stance on issues. We could easily end up with another RINO in the WH, who will work with the Dems and ignore the conservatives. The RNC seems to favor those types and will push to have one elected.
I would LOVE to have a true conservative to vote for that can win. But accepting on face value what a candidate is saying today, with them knowing full well how angry people are, would be naive.
If you have any additional information on Thompson, please share. I will never vote for the Rudy McRomney crowd.

‘The more they push us away the more 2008 is slipping from their/our fingers...They are getting awfully close to critical mass...’
Depends on who the candidate is next year.
You can make the argument that running against the President on specific policies is a ‘good thing’ especially given this is the first election in decades where an incumbent isn’t running.
I’ll also note if this monstrosity we call Amnesty is killed this year, there is plenty of time to prepare for the 2008 election cycle.
We’ll see. If they pass this ‘as is’ then your probably right. I’ve never seen an issue so lopsided against a sitting President where he won’t change or modify his position an inch, choosing instead to insult and demean the very people that elected him twice.

Where were all these border-bots during the 2004 election? 2000? 1996? 1992? Anyone? Yeah, and where were all these Islamic/Terrorist bots in 1932, 1954, 1927 and 1964? Anyone?
Yeah, and where were all these anti-Iraq war bots in 1955, and 1966, and 1980 and 1975? Anyone?
Bush is trying to do something alright. And fast. Against the will of American citizens. Well before the next election.
But he's not running, you say. Why would he care?
Must be part of the deal he made with whoever he sold us out to.
You border bots only know how to sing one tune, you say.
Yes. It's called Freedom, the first track on that great album called the United States of America.
