The amnesty bill is not dead. Everyone has to keep the pressure on. Keep emailing, mailing, faxing and calling your senators and the following key senators:
McConnell 202/224-2541 Lott 202/224-6253 Kyl 202/224-4521 Brownback 202/224-6521 Burr 202/224-3154 Chambliss 202/224-3521 Cornyn 202/224-2934 Hutchison 202/224-5922 Isakson 202/224-3643 Warner 202/224-2023 Webb 202/224-4024
Your email, letter, fax and/or phone calls can make a difference. Flood their offices with them!
"I was just informed that the back-room plan is currently underway to bring Bush-Kennedy back and get it quickly passed through the Senate. I call it "amendments for amnesty."
Here's what's happening.
President Bush and the Amnesty Republicans are attempting to convince about a dozen Republicans to support "cloture" on Bush-Kennedy in exchange for a commitment that a set list of amendments will be considered -- thus, "amendments for amnesty."
Also, Bush and the amnesty leaders are strong-arming conservatives into accepting the "amendments for amnesty" deal or face being banished into Senate oblivion.
Amnesty Republicans have already submitted their list of amendments to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Once the "amendments for amnesty" deal is finalized between Reid and the Republicans, the bill will be quickly brought back to the floor. The amendments will be defeated and amnesty passed."
I just posted on another thread that I don’t hear Laura Ingraham until evenings, and just now heard Sen. DeMint saying this very thing, that we need to keep the heat on and turned up. He’s afraid, like I’ve been saying, that if we don’t stay on this they will try to slip it through when we aren’t paying attention.
Oh, I am soooo p*ssed with this backroom deal thing. This group are acting like dictators instead of our senators.
This week, we will vote on cloture and final passage of a comprehensive bill that will strengthen border security, bring the 12 million undocumented Americans out of the shadows, and keep our economy strong. In the days ahead, we will work to improve the bill to protect and strengthen family ties while improving the structure of the temporary-worker program.
I just re-read the list of names, and I can’t believe my two senators are on it now......they’ve fought against it until now. Now I’m really really really ticked off
So are their offices open now? Are they doing this in the middle of the night or do we have until a.m.?
There will be hell to pay if these bastards try any back room deals. I am not forgetting this sellout of my standard of living!!...EVER!
BUMP!!
Bump
What in the heck is going on??
What sort of amendments? Do you mean amendments these senators can later use to constituents as an excuse for caving in... "Well, we got them to at least consider our amendments"...those kind?
That’s what I think, exactly.
I don't know, but they often work into the wee hours of the night. Wouldn't hurt to try and then again tomorrow anyway.
Just say NO to Amnesty!! Keep calling!! Its NOT OVER!!

Amen! Burn up the phone lines! Make ‘em feel the HEAT!!!
>What the heck is going on?<
According to Roy Beck, editor of Numbers USA today, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and Senate Republican Whip Trent Lott of Mississippi have succeeded in twisting nearly enough GOP arms to assure Sen. Ted Kennedy that they can deliver the votes to pass his S 1348 amnesty for 12=20 million illegal aliens!
Secret meetings all day today. It’s time to go to work again, people.
