(Check out the Fred picture I posted to you on that thread.)
BTTT
The man is impressive, his thoughts are expressed with clarity and lucidity. I am talking about the interviewer, Peter Robinson. Fred does okay, but suffers from comparison to the interviewer.
Fred’s relaxed and confident style reminds me of Dick Cheney in 2000.
Wonderful ~ both interviewEE and interviewER.
Fred looks and talks sharp and Peter Robinson brings out the best.
Makes me want to read “Conscience of a Conservative” by Barry Goldwater.
Much better than several other interviews I’ve seen recently! He needs to keep this up.
I’m a Romney supporter, but this is a solid performance for Thompson. I think he gelled well with the interviewer here. Still a little slow, but good all the same.
I guess Optimist was right... I'm wasting my time posting the thread if no one is going to read it or participate.
Politicalmom---ping away. :)
Excellent interview with Fred @ the Hoover Institution.

HAhaaaaa!
Listen- I haven’t kept up today much- my 4 month-old grandson was with me most of the day:) I am still beaming!
Then we had an hellatious hail-wind-thunder storm for an hour...the dogs went nuts, baby slept through it all.
I think it’s a great idea- just not sure if it’s practical..people come and go at all hours and Fredheads are looking for headlines that have Fred’s name in the title.
In the meantime- from Peter Robinson who did the interview we’re discussing here:
“..Fred Thompson on Tape [Peter Robinson]
On Monday, former senator Fred Thompson spent half a day at the Hoover Institution, discussing policy with a roomful of Hoover fellows. In this, my first encounter with Thompson, I was hugely impressedhugely. He proved relaxed, likeable, determined, warm, funny, anda trait not always seen in candidates for high officehumble. (He reached into his briefcase, pulled out a three-ring binder, and then spent the entire session taking notes as assiduously as a college student.)
When we broke for lunch, Thompson and I sat down for a brief interview. To take a look at the man for yourself, click here.”

Hope we continue to hear more from Peter Robinson.
He sure likes Fred.
Peter Robinson is a brilliant man in his own right. He wrote the line “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down that wall” ... He was a Reagan guy- and his book “How Ronald Reagan Changed My Life”...is a terrific read.
:)
Thank you ~ I’ll have to read that.
Yes, we are at a crossroads.
