The FReeper Canteen Crew sadly announces the passing of Mr. Tonkin. (68-69TonkinGulfYachtClub).
If you would like to leave a message for his family, please direct them to amom.
Also, we ask that you send prayers to amom, his son Matthew, family, and friends.
We love you, Mr. Tonkin. Say 'hello' to Texas Cowboy for all of us.
You're missed and will never be forgotten.
We hope to make this an online memorial book for his family.
Details will be provided later regarding funeral services.
I was just thinking about him a few days ago. FR just isn’t the same without him. Godspeed soldier! Thank you for all you have done.
RIP, good FReeper.
We exchanged some posts in the past; he will be remembered fondly by those of us who interacted with him and those who read his posts.
Tonk was a great man, and a FRiend. I will miss him greatly. The world will miss him greatly too.
They dont make many men like him anymore.
May God, in His love, cradle Tonk in his arms, and keep him in His enduring care forever.
Regards
JM
Prayers for the family.
He will be missed!
Me too. I was wondering what it was about that picture that grabbed my heart...
God Bless, Mr. Tonkin and thank you for your service to our country..
Dang. Just plain dang.
His posts were some of the more entertaining ones. I shall miss him. Godspeed to the Kingdom that awaits you, Tonk.
I am so sorry to hear of your and Matt’s loss. I join with all the others here in lifting you both up to God for His blessings, peace and guidance and you deal with Tonk’s homegoing.
God Bless Tonkin and may his family have wonderful memories of their times together.
Farewell, Tonk. Thank you for the occasional pings and great humor.
God go with his loved ones tonight.
I am sorry for your loss, and pray the Heavenly Father’s arms of comfort continue with you and yours.
I honor you Mr. Tonkin even though I never met you face to face. You served your country with the best of the best and that for me sets you apart. I imagine your return to the Father was with open arms.
Sympathies to his family and friends.
R.I.P. Sailor,
And we thank you.
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant ...”
May the Lord’s Comfort fall upon Tonk’s beloved family and FRiends.
Prayers for him and his family.
Rest in Peace Tonkin, you made a difference
I am so sorry too to hear this sad news. Tonk was so dedicated to our country, our vets and his continued service to our country, it truly make me feel like just a mediocre Freeper with the rahrah for certain subjects and posts. This man was intense and absolutely without any doubt, truly dedicated to our service men and women.
His posts, quite simply, stood out, I had to read each and everyone of them.!
God Bless you Tonk! I hope his family and closest friends take comfort in knowing that fellow Freepers like myself, who barely knew him, are crying tears tonight. He really stood out.
Our Lord, you have quite an angel on your hands now....he will serve you right!
Happy Sailing Tonk...
Because I could not stop for Death,
He kindly stopped for me.
