One would think he would be supporting Rudy, so this endorsement is shocking.Well, Rudy endorsed Cuomo in 1994, in a last minute 'shocker.' Fonzie's dog in that race was Pataki. In fact, in Rudy's endorsement of Cuomo, he kept stressing that he was 'his own man.' That was seen, rightly I think, as a shot at D'Amato, since Pataki was considered the guy pulling Pataki's strings by the usual suspects in the media.
Pataki ended up winning, and Rudy was out in the cold. Doesn't surprise me that Fonzie wants anybody but Rudy to win.

Al DAmato DESPISES Rudy because Rudy prosecuted Al’s brother, who was led away in handcuffs in front of Al’s mother. I’ve heard Al D explain that on the radio so this endorsement is not a surprise.
