I had an awful, streaming cold one day at work, and no Kleenex. No one else had any either, because the cold was going around. After I had used up the last scraps of paper napkins in my purse, I went to the restroom and “liberated” a roll of toilet paper so I could at least blow my nose. No sooner did I get back to my desk than my boss walked into my office, saw the roll in my handbag, and asked me if I had a problem I wanted to tell her about.

Another great use of our tax money.
Theft is theft but don’t stick the taxpayers with the costs for a trial.
This would bring the Alice’s Restaurant song. “Whadda ya in for kid?” Stealing 3 rolls of toliet paper....

How could taking toilet paper from a public - taxpayer funded restroom be called stealing. If I fill up my water jug from the sink, is that stealing? Water costs money.
Was she selling it on ebay, or just using it to blow her nose in the car. Obviously some county idiot is worried about someone getting three roles of toilet paper. Maybe they are channeling Major Burns from MASH. Most places would tell her - don’t abuse the toilet paper privileges again, and let it go at that. of course with a name like MARSHALTOWN they must really enforce the letter of the law.
Sorry maam, but rules are rules. IDIOTS

You’d have to be pretty hard up to steal institutional-quality courthouse TP. That stuff will hurt you.

Sounds like a “Butts” of a joke !
To: RDTF
Calling the police was asinine. The whistle blowing employee should have just reported the alleged theft to Ms. Butts’ supervisor. This is a personnel issue not a criminal case. The Marshaltown cops must have very little serious law enforcement to do if they can take on such a ludicrous case.
