Also expect increases in the price of whiskey, particularly bourbon, as supplies currently being aged in barrels are depleted.

The government raised the price of cigarettes, but I didn't say anything because I didn't smoke. The goverment's policies raised the price of corn flakes, but I didn't say anything because I would rather eat bacon and eggs. Now the government's policies are raising the price of my beer and it's too late to say anything.

Looks like the American farm will be making a comeback.

There IS NO DEMAND for ETHANOL FUELS!

They took bribes and forced it on us by fiat.

I tried to find the thread but have failed ... maybe it was an illusion ... ?

It's like when you get drunk and lose your keys. You have to get drunk again to find them.

I suggest you have a few beers and look for the thread...

You can keep your swill brewed w/ corn, rice and other adjuncts, but give me 100% barley beer any day.

I'll make an exception for using wheat for a good hefeweizen.

mmmmmm....hefe!

I wonder if the price of soft drinks is also going up. Soda, as you know, is sweetened with corn syrup and not sugar because of another instance of government meddling.

I agree with you about most of it already having been planted.

Related aside, just last week I had a farmer friend tell me he doesn’t care what I will be charging per dozen, because he plans on buying his sweet corn from me this summer. He had just finished putting in 180 acres of feed corn........

“going after what pays best now”

And as more raise corn and the barley/agave/potato crops go up, they’ll shift back.

Damn! You are so correct! One or two cold ones should get me close to remembering ... but just to be safe I think I will chill about 6.

Last year, just for fun, I planted a few ears in the backdrop of my garden. I was shocked how much corn I got an at how well the plants did.

When we move, I’m applying for a permit, planting corn and making my own ethanol. We own older cars and they were built to take ethanol or gas.

Corn is relatively easy to grow. I’ve got just under 500 row feet in right now, plan on putting another 240 feet in tomorrow. Over the weekend I’m putting in red ornamental and blue popcorn.

Simply really. Start putting sugar in my Coca-Cola and stop using the high-fructose corn syrup.

Here's a thought Dems! Pass a corn syrup tax on all soft drinks. heh heh. You love taxes! You love taxing huge corporations!! heh heh. C'mon! You know you wanna. Taxes. The pause that refreshes!

Have you ever looked at the still instructions that are all over the net?

If not, let me know if you want my renewable energy zip file. I’ll freepmail it to you.

If you have looked at the intructions, what did you think about them? Is it doable? It sounds it from what I read.

I had seen it at some point, but I can’t comment on it, because I didn’t understand it, and then just basically forgot about it.
