Some of the characters made some political comments some of the time. To make a show current, you’ve got to have comments that are based on current events. But anyone that watched The Sopranos for political reasons....I’m not sure why or for what.
It was David Chase making it political, getting his blatant agenda across.

I hear ya. There are plenty of self-appointed experts and undeservedly smug know-it-alls on this site.
I try to ignore them now.
Actually it was characters in the show that did that. And to be truthful I’ve met a few of people who think like those did in real life. Chase also portrayed AJ as nuts.
When I correctly type “electrons”, that makes you any official knipplehead. Congrats buddy.
Maybe Tony did get whacked? The black out was the moment of his death.

Hmmmnnn . . . I sense a mild undercurrent of dissatisfaction.
There is absolutely no reason to think (black = Tony dead) unless your an art film buff, although I read a review about Taxi Driver that implies the whole last scene of Travis picking up Cybil Sheperd in his Taxi was Travis’ dream as he died in the apartment after saving Jodi Foster. (I Don’t remember the character’s names)Soething about not seeing anything in the rerar view mirror...
Along with the people who never watch TV, the ones that have never watched the Sopranos before tonight and feel that they have to come on here and make a comment are completly obnoxious. People did the same thing with Seinfeld.
Of course the reality of the situation is that HBO didn’t do this, Chase did it. The real sin of HBO in this was they kept writing Chase bigger and bigger checks, causing him to make the show go 3 seasons longer than he intended. If not for those checks you get this ending years ago.
Not sure what the agenda was then. I’ve been a watcher from Episode 1, and never thought about politics when I was watching. When AJ or Med mouthed something, I just thought “Ehhh....idealistic kids.”
Perhaps it’s just me and my H but neither of us ever got anything political out of the series. DC’s agenda didn’t make an impression here.
That’s what the left thinks of the people “stupid enough” to join the military.
