“Bush isn’t standing high with me with this immigration deal, but Chase bashed the military, SUVs, the war, the FBI and Bush all in the same episode.”

Chased did’nt, the character did.

Politicians on both sides were slammed and respected throughout the show, it was NOT a political show in any way. The reason for showing AJ’s interest in war and politics and everything was to show he’s as full of shit as the rest of his family, and mr. GungHo got bought off with a cut rate script and an M3. He was screaming for attention, and he got it, and he showed his true nature by how fast he dropped the whole army fantasy and how much he got off on the SUV blowing up.

The show was about a family, and all their faults and sins and utter hypocracy and insane lifestyles. It was’nt about perfect people who do the right thing and end up at the end reformed and singing in a choir!

LOL!

Nahh... Maybe 2nd worst. THE Worst Ending Ever was the finale of Seinfeld, IMO. We went to a "Seinfeld Finale" party that night (back in May 1998) given by one of my cousins. She and her husband worked tirelessly to pull off a big party in a small house with lots of food and televisions set up all over the place so 50+ of us could experience the finale together.

We all stared at each other in disbelief when the show ended... as I'm sure was happening all over the country. You had the feeling that Jerry & Co. had just flipped America the bird with that disgustingly lame ending. I still to this day can't believe how BAD that ending was, with all the brilliant writers who worked on that show.

Sure, that’s why half the show felt like a PBS special written by Bill Moyers.

In the movie, Walnuts confides with the cat that he has a prostate the size of a melon and he gets up five times a night to pee but nothing happens.

I’ve always wondered if Alan Ball is a bit of a closet conservative.
>>

I think it’s that some of his closest friends are conservative — childhood friends — so he’s a bit more realistic than your average libtard. Witness how Claire’s conserative (relativley speaking, of course) boyfriend is depicted as being good for her, loyalty being his strongest trait. In the finale he emerges years later to marry her.

What would have been a great ending would have been to cut to a scene of Livia on a darkened screen, playing with marionette strings from above. RIP Nancy Marchand.

Oh, and it didn’t take long for the people on FR who have never watched the show, never liked the show, or people who don’t own a tv set to come on here, and post about how much they hate the show, or how superior they are to us plebes who watch tv. We get it. You have never liked the show, or you are far greater humans for never watching the show, or walk on water for not owning a television set. We get it. Now just leave us people alone who love this show, and want to praise or criticize the series and its finale. Thank you.

Never saw a single episode.

This post is my first and last involvement with the Sopranos.

But, I gotta say, reading the comments about it is interesting, in a strange sort of way...

The fact that it’s generated this much discussion this quickly shows that you’re wrong, that indeed it’s a brilliant ending. And really it’s the only ending possible. There’s been years of speculation on how the series would end, and the CW is none of the “normal” options would work. You can’t kill off Tony because that’s just too pat, you can’t send him to jail because a trial and stuff would be dull, and you sure can’t let him live free because he really does need to pay. How do you end a series where you can’t kill, incarcerate or let roam free the main character? Simple, you pick none of the above.

That's 100% pure BS.

I watched every episode of Six Feet and have to agree with you. Claire was always shown as a screwed up person with really out-there ideas. Even at the end, when she’s “grown up”, she’s shown as a angry drunk who’s rants are basically laughed at. Remember, at the end, she marries a admittingly conservative lawyer.

I think Ball did a good job of showing both sides of issues that do tend to bother anyone who thinks about it.

Now I await those who will rightfully point out this is a thread for the Soprano’s and complain about highjacking.

Sorry all ;-)

I AGREE 100%...MASH, CHEERS, ETC. ETC. All had great endings that made you sad the show had come to an end. Thanks alot HBO for finishing off a great show and making us glad it’s gone...YOU SUCK. That was the best you could come up with? YOU SUCK as much as your new line up of shows. I may just call my cable company and cancel HBO. YOU SUCK. To think fans have watched for years now all for this joke of an ending...YOU SUCK. I was considering buying all the seasons on DVD, but not for that BS ending. Oh by the way HBO did I mention...YOU SUCK
