Just stopping the other side doesn't win you anything. It has merely maintained the status quo. The illegal are still going to be pouring into their country now. So they are the only ones who won anything here.

So why is national security [the fence and a program to monitor, track, and deport visa overstays] being held hostage to comprehensive immigration reform? The answer is fairly obvious to anyone with half a brain.

Interesting exchange between Tony Snow and Chris Wallace regarding Scooter Libby. It is clear to me based on Tony’s commment that President Bush is looking at and evaluating opportunities to assist Scooter, as I always figured he was doing.

In response to the question regarding Scooter, Tony said: “I’ll let the President speak for himself on that issue when....(and then he inserted “if and when”) it is time for him to do so” (ok, thats a paraphrase, but it gets to the gist of his comment).

No surprise that no one will listen to Hair Amerika lite on WP Raido, they will have to go at least semi-conservative to get any audience but they would probably rather fold than do that. They should stay with what they do best, basing GW in their phony paper.

TV lineup has been so bad, especially since 24 is off the air, now there is very little to watch except a few re-runs, tv execs. are too cheap to produce good stuff so no one is watching, surprise, surprise!

I sometimes wonder if there is a type of devise that monitors where a call
originates from, and upon detection lets them know what the possible attitude is in
that particular area, and if the call should be answered

Same here. I saw it by mistake. I was really watching Jose Wejebe on the "Spanish Fly" jump over the side to catch a fish he hooked that ran into the rocks, like EC says he rocks!!

Powell said the troops cannot come home. But the phrase “Civil War” needs to be discussed openly. I do not care about Russert’s hidden agenda and supposed lies or Powell’s supposed part or Armitage’s obvious part or prosecutorial vendettas. I do not give a damn about Mrs. Plame Wilson or her husband. All that rank garbage is history. Bush could end the Libbey Chapter tomorrow with a pardon. In short, “It’s all Bush’s fault.”

I know you have studied the “Scooter affair”, what is your take on all this? Will he go to jail? Do you think GW will intervene?

You wouldn’t know that watching the shows this nmorning. Mara just said the vast majority of the American people supported the bill but the extremes won out. This is just misstating the facts, but since when did the facts matter.

I would expect that LIbby does NOT want a pardon at this point; give the man the chance to clear his name through the appeals process. President Bush will intervent when the time is right; its just not right yet. Watch closely what happens next week. On Thursday Walton will decide if Libby goes to prison or remains free on bail while moving through the appeals process. If Walton sends Libby to jail, as I expect he will given his outrageous rulings and statements throughout this case, President Bush will act.
