A new ad for the 2008 race was just released on youtube.com. This one, focusing on abortion issues, takes aim at Republican frontrunner Rudolph Giuliani. The video covers his liberal positions on abortions using several clips from his run for Mayor to the latest GOP debates.

So far he’s deflected this issue by being increasingly upfront about his positions. It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out. I just don’t see him being the Nominee.
In a nation where millions of voters can’t name the president and vice president, Giuliani is practically unknown.
There are plenty of good solid conservative Republicans but I saw none of them on the stage at the Republican debate in Manchester NH on June 5th.
“...are passively taking up Rudy “
Don’t worry. Down here in Texas he’s a non-starter in most GOP circles because of abortion. Not even on the “maybe” list - people would rather stay home - in droves.
You want to see Rudymania go to Ldott. Man alive.
Neither did I really. I have a lot of affection for Romney. I think he’d make a fantastic Secretary of the Treasury. Hunter would be a great SecDef. But as for the top, for me:
Thompson/Barbour 2008.
This video isn’t to tell you who to vote for, just please join the effort to put a real conservative leader in front of our cause in 2008. If we step up at this point, I’m confident and ‘08 victory will be on the way.

ALERT ALERT ALERT
DEMOCRAT TROELL WORKING HERE. DIVIDE AND CONQUER. STAY AWAY FROM joe27. HE HAS NO BIO.
Oh Please, attacking Giuliani is a service not a disservice to the Republican party. If Rudy gets the nomination he will destroy the social conservative wing of the Republican Party and make a mockery of everything we believe in. So, attacking Rudy is a service to true Conservatism. On the other hand, supporting Rudy is the best way to ensure the longterm destruction of the GOP.
“I’m worried about this race. It seems like too many traditional social conservatives who have dedicated so many resources to elevating our cause within the party are passively taking up Rudy because we’ve become too comfortable with the state of things in the Republican party, maybe.”
Rudy isn’t just bad on abortion, he is a pro ‘sanctuary city’ guy on immigration... he is very bad on immigration, on gun rights, on abortion, on family (pro-gay rights anti-FMA). On domestic issues in the 199s0, he thought Clinton was doing a fine job.
he has no special skill nor insight in fighting the GWOT.
His background is as a prosecutor, and he’d make a good head of FBI. That’s it.
... and on Judges, his debate #1 response was telling: He thinks a good constitutional judge could uphold Roe v Wade.
Rudys nomination would destroy the GOP.
It would be a lose/lose for conservatives on Nov 2008.
Consider immigration:
I believe the anti-immigration movement in America is one of our most serious public problems. Rudy Giuliani, Oct. 10, 1996.

Guliani supported the Bush position on immigration. Guliani will be more liberal on immigration than Romney and Thompson and certainly the real hawks like Hunter and tancredo.
HOW CAN RUDY BE GOOD FOR NATIONAL SECURITY WHEN HES WEAK ON ENFORCING IMMIGRATION LAW IN THE CITIES?
“Its doubtful if Rudy Giuliani is the frontrunner, as the media place him. “
He polls at the top, with about 25% now. Give the front-loaded primary, that is a very dangerous thing. The RINOs would want him in there.
Your comment is unfair to the current field, which, excepting Rudy and McCain, is decent.
STOP RUDY 2008 PING!
Oh, no! You mean the pro-life people are running ads? Who would have ever thought that? LOL!
Not only does Rooty not excite me, he is repugnant and a puppet.
No attempt at making me feel bad has a chance in hell of working.
By the way, welcome to FR.
You have had four posts, all Youtube ads slamming Republican candidates for the party’s nominee. Your posts currently hit McCain and RG. Who’s next?
“It seems like too many traditional social conservatives who have dedicated so many resources to elevating our cause within the party are passively taking up Rudy because we’ve become too comfortable with the state of things in the Republican party, maybe.”
Don’t worry. I hear a real conservative is about to get in the race. Rudy will not be the nominee. His supporters don’t give a damn about his beliefs one way or the other. They see an “R” after his name and automatically want to vote for him. Add to that the fact that he out polls Hillary and there you have it, Repubs that are more interested in power than what is right for the country. Kind of what got them in trouble in ‘06.
I like Newt and Tancredo and would follow either one. But I do not think they have a chance at this time at least. If things change I will be happy.
Thompson has a well organized GOP campaign (my opinion - ROVE) and FT isn't running. G. Prescott Bush (a future WH hopeful) and other Bush hacks have jumped to Fred's campaign (Google it) and he isn't allegedly a candidate. FT's immigration record sucks (check NumbersUSA.com), he cannot remember filling out a Pro Abortion questionnaire (Hannity show, and Google it), how will he remember his campaign promises? ... or his current position? (And Ann Coulter doesn't care for him either.)
A vote for Fred is a vote for 4 more years of Bush; it sets the stage for a non American America, two languages, and a dynasty when Prescott is ready. Enough BUSH let's get a Conservative America by throwing out the current bunch and stop the Dims from winning. JMO
I know, I’ve seemed more concerned about moderates in the party than trumpeting a conservative. The reason is probably because I know I don’t want McCain or Rudy and right now I’m actually split between Romney, Thompson and Huckabee. So for now I have my eyes set on them.
Point made there. When I got after these guys, I have respect for what they’ve done, but I don’t think it qualifies them for the oval office. ie Rudy could be a fine cabinent member as you said, there could be a role for McCain in a defense-related position but I can’t see how any conservative rationalize their support for either. More videos will come because I got a good response on that one. Please help spread the effort
How is telling the truth through a video about Rudy’s pro-choice stance going to work to divide and conquer the party??
It is truth that party activists and many here on FreeRepublic already know this stuff! NOT a big deal! Besides - who here supports Rudy?? Especially Because of his pro-abortion stance?
