Neither did I really. I have a lot of affection for Romney. I think he’d make a fantastic Secretary of the Treasury. Hunter would be a great SecDef. But as for the top, for me:

When I got after these guys, I have respect for what they’ve done, but I don’t think it qualifies them for the oval office. ie Rudy could be a fine cabinent member as you said, there could be a role for McCain in a defense-related position but I can’t see how any conservative rationalize their support for either.
