Sheehan selling land outside Bush ranch to radio host for peace memorial

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - When President Bush vacations at his Texas ranch he won't be hounded by Cindy Sheehan (SHEE'-han) any more.

The Gold Star war mom announced Memorial Day she's quitting as the poster child of the anti-Iraq war movement. She's selling the five-acre piece of land she bought near the ranch as a protest headquarters.

A spokeswoman for Sheehan says Los Angeles radio talk host Bree Walker is buying it for $87,000 and will preserve it as a peace memorial.

A pro-war group called Move America Forward had wanted to buy the parcel but Sheehan refused.

Her son Casey was an Army specialist and was killed in Baghdad in an ambush in 2004.

This really ticks me off. Move America Forward wanted to buy it. They came out publicly and stated this. We said they should have kept quiet and sent a rep to buy it but they said oh no we want her to know who we are or some such nonsense. Trust us, we know what we’re doing. Now it is back in the hands of moonbats! What a wasted opportunity. Conservatives are just so niave and bumbling. No wonder no one trusts them anymore.

These considerations probably do not factor in to the Left's idea of having a 'Peace Memorial'. . .or that the greatest guarantee for Peace; is a Country, embracing Democracy - and the Capitalism it engenders..
