Has anyone mentioned the necessity for a shower yet? That’s how *I* know when it’s “it.”

What’s happening? Is Bush trying to replace the air traffic controllers with illegal aliens?
To: Snoopers-868th
Living in Stamford, CT, it seems as if there aren’t any air traffic controllers. That five mile buffer aircraft are supposed to have? It LOOKS like it’s reduced to about a mile.

the verbal & sight jokes may only be a second or two long and are packed in.You are so right. Recall watching for the second or third time one of them, where there is a hostage thing with tense cops surrounding a house. As the scene pans along, you see a "roach coach" pulled up and cops buying food like at a construction site. Never noticed it before, bust a gut laughing when I did see it.

part of Paris Hilton's plan
to get herself home...

Air Traffic Control computers are under the control of the Federal Aviation Administration. If FAA computers are “down” it could affect air traffic control computers. There are back-up systems and voice communication but the failure of FAA computers could caus trouble.

Good grief I never knew we had so many experts. We were NOT running any delays when I left today. There were some pretty funny jokes however, lol.

How can this be breaking news on a day when Paris Hilton is being sent back to jail?

I know that many years back all the FAA mainframe hardware was Unisys....low bidder and all that RFP stuff beat IBM out of the business.
Unisys was less reliable by far than IBM mainframes which weren't so hot themselves. The most reliable were the Japanese mainframes from Hitachi and Amdahl.
