Washington out of `Grey's Anatomy' [Insulted Politically Correct Group]

Isaiah Washington has lost his job on the hit ABC medical drama "Grey's Anatomy," five months after creating a furor with his use of an anti-gay slur.

Washington's contract option was not renewed for next season, series producer ABC Television Studios said Thursday.

"I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore," Washington said in a statement released through his publicist, Howard Bragman, without elaboration.

He drew fire after using the anti-gay epithet backstage at the Golden Globe Awards in January while denying he'd used it previously on the set against cast mate T.R. Knight.

Gay rights groups and cast member Katherine Heigl, who publicly denounced Washington, were among his most vocal critics.

"This is something that will have changed the scope of his life," Heigl told Entertainment Weekly last month. Washington was "sorry and embarrassed" for the mistake, she said.

Washington tried to make amends and said he was seeking therapy.

He also met with officials from the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network and the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation and filmed a public service announcement in which he said "words have power" to hurt or heal.

“Izzy” is very annoying. She is the most annoying part of the show.

am just so surprised at this. I mean he did everything possible to apologize for his actions. His career is over. He will most likely never have another chance at a hit show again that is for sure. I hope he has a college degree or something. It is a shame that is for sure.

Ironic--I can think of a word Washington, as a black man, can use with very few eyebrows raised--a word which I cannot use, unless I want a couple of reverrrunds camped out in my front yard. Now Washington has lost his job because he used a word that he is not allowed to use, because he is straight. Seems ironic to me, anyway.

"Fag" is to homosexuals what the N word is to blacks, simple as that. My gay neighbor uses the word fag quite a bit. He can't stand what he calls "the preening queens," who prance around all summer long in their too-tight shorty shorts. I'm not allowed to comment one way or the other, being a straight white woman. In the bizarre demographic hierarchy of postmodern America, the black man has been irrevocably demoted from his position as Supreme Victim. It was a good 44 year run.

I saw this a couple of years ago, on the first 'Next Food Network Star' competition. The two finalists were a black woman, and a white male gay couple (note that no other couples were even allowed in this competition, everybody else worked alone). 'Dan and Steve' won, proving that even being both black and female can no longer match the nobility acquired by telling everyone how much you enjoy anal sex with other men.

Their sex isn’t even kinky (I won’t get personal) - their type of sex in gross. In my opinion.

We won’t stop kowtowing to these perverts because it’s becoming clear we are the ones who just don’t understand this abnormal behavior. We keep allowing these people to shove their lifestyle down our throats. We’re all bigots, stupid, whatever, because we don’t accept this behavior as normal. They make up a very small percentage of the population yet they have a voice, they’re vocal, and the rest of us are just bigots (rolling my eyes).

For example, my wonderful public school district decided to include the That’s a Family video in the 3rd grade curriculum. Parents weren’t given information about this video and wouldn’t have known anything about it if a few 3rd hadn’t told their parents what they viewed in class that day. A few concerned parents revolted and are now labeled as bigots. The video was pulled, a special committee formed, and many many letters to newspapers later, parents are considered the enemy, with no voice in their child’s education, and the special committee is made up of handpicked people who support everything the admin/school board thinks is appropriate. The 50+ majority is still trying to fight the political agenda that has overtaken our public school district. Board of Ed meetings were rarely attended by the people of this town and when this broke, only a hundred or so attended, while hundreds from Garden State Equality, Philly homo activists, activists flown in from San Fransisco, etc. made up the majority (by hundreds) of attendees at the last 4 school board meetings. And this was a conservative dominated town until the last election when the camden dems won the mayor and town council seats. This is also and extremely affluent town, white collar town, with astronomical property taxes (many homes pay $27,000/year in property taxes).

People just don’t care. And because I support those fighting this indoctrination, I’m labeled a bigot or a ‘special interest group’ or ignornant, despite that I’m certified to teach in 3 states, hold a B.S degree from Penn State and 2 Master Degrees. But I’m a bigot because I escaped the liberal indoctrination at the universities I attended.
