Isaiah Washington has lost his job on the hit ABC medical drama "Grey's Anatomy," five months after creating a furor with his use of an anti-gay slur.
Washington's contract option was not renewed for next season, series producer ABC Television Studios said Thursday.
"I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore," Washington said in a statement released through his publicist, Howard Bragman, without elaboration.
He drew fire after using the anti-gay epithet backstage at the Golden Globe Awards in January while denying he'd used it previously on the set against cast mate T.R. Knight.
Gay rights groups and cast member Katherine Heigl, who publicly denounced Washington, were among his most vocal critics.
"This is something that will have changed the scope of his life," Heigl told Entertainment Weekly last month. Washington was "sorry and embarrassed" for the mistake, she said.
Washington tried to make amends and said he was seeking therapy.
He also met with officials from the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network and the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation and filmed a public service announcement in which he said "words have power" to hurt or heal.

Other reports indicate Washington has a history of being difficult to work with. He apparently has had problems on other programs, as well as on Grey’s Anatomy.
The wierd thing is I always thought Isaiah Washington was gay. No, I mean GAY, like homosexual.

I have wondered why the have gay men acting as straight me like this show does with one of the other doctors there. They do have him dating the fattest girl doctor. I wonder if this is their prejudice.

That said, one did have a Porsche 356, which is good taste in cars.
I am just so surprised at this. I mean he did everything possible to apologize for his actions. His career is over. He will most likely never have another chance at a hit show again that is for sure. I hope he has a college degree or something. It is a shame that is for sure.

Since the ‘incident’ they’ve had TR Knight’s character sleep with the main character, the blond bombshell, and had him get married to the Amazon chick. I figure at this rate, by midpoint next season they’ll have group sex - just gay Knight and EVERY FEMALE on the show, including the ‘extra’s’....(chuckle)
I don’t mind it, I laugh every time they pull this stunt. And he has that odd look of ‘panic’ in each and every scene.

That group goes by “GLSEN” but they tell MSM types to NOT use the acronym because they are searched out by education groups.
GLSEN is the child sex recruiting group which sponsors the GSA (”gay” straight aliance clubs in high schools)
GLSEN encourages minors to engage in illegal sexual acts.
This incident just shows why the network end of the channels is the Ghetto that should never be entered. (ala a bad part of town)
Tony Dungy, quite possibly one of the nicest men on earth and a black man, got protested by these nuts because he dared to speak about being pro traditional family.

At least in H'wd where the show biz gays -- including people who pay actors' salaries -- outnumber the straights.
I guess he has been blacklisted. Will they make a movie about him in 25 years?
