Calling himself a blue dog Democrat, Peter Bultman, an employee of Project Vote Smart (thought not speaking on behalf of the group), supports Tancredo on the immigration issue alone. Bultman has worked for both the Democrat and Republican parties in the past and admitted that Democrat candidate John Edwards would be his second choice for President behind Tancredo.
He said that although Tancredo has stumbled through some of his responses recently, he has filled a vacuum in the Republican presidential field by forcing a conversation about immigration.
Bilingual education is another significant component and what initially inspired Tancredo. Thirty years ago, he was a teacher in Colorado, where such education is advocated. He said, I kept wondering why, why, why, who would do this to a kid -- take him out of a class where hes learning English and put him into a class where hes taught in Spanish and almost doom him to a life of impoverishment?
Tancredo then recognized the political implications that could actually make a difference. During Tuesdays debate, he called the English language the glue of our nation. He re-iterated in our interview that America is different than any other country because we have no common histories, cultures or heritages. For this reason, he said, we desperately need one thing that does bind us together.

This makes too much sense the MSM will never cover it.

Hunter for president and Tancredo to head Homeland defense.
Give employers a reliable means to screen their prospective employees, first, then fine heck out of ‘em if they fail to do so.
Also, make State and Federal Agencies cooperate in identifying illegal aliens. And cut Federal funding to any state or local government that doesn’t cooperate.
I like Tom. But he is hardly the star when it comes to anti-illegal immigration. Hunter has been relentless and far more effective than Tancredo during their careers.
I like Tom - but for the good of the nation both he and Duncan Hunter are going to need to sit down at a table before the primaries and figure out how to consolidate their forces.
Sorry, there must be other conservative candidates who don't shoot their mouths off over things they don't know much about.

Tancredo is calling for a grassroots army to work against all that are supporting the Amnesty Bill and says our country is at stake.

Tancredo will prosecute all mayors that will keep their towns gateway communities.

Tancredo ended with this is our flag, pick it up. This is our country, take it back.
I have the impression that they will work together in some capacity if either win the Presidential nomination.
I hope you’re not serious. Edwards would be a disaster.
I disagree. Tancredo may not by an eloquent speaker but his singlemindedness and tireless approach have been instrumental in awaking the general populous nationally on this issue. It is because of the public rousing that this issue is getting beat back. Without him I’m not sure how much attention would be currently focused on this issue. That is not to slight Hunter in any way. He is a good man and I support him and hope he gets nominated. He does have a good record on immgration issues however the real legs of this “movement” comes in no small part because of Tancredo. In additon it was Tancredo who formed the Immigration Reform Caucus.
While Tancredo was talking, Hunter was busy legislating more border patrol agents, getting the fence build in CA, torpedoing mexican trucks from getting access to our roads, fighting Reagan’s 1986 amnesty, torpedoing CA’s attempts to give driver’s licenses to illegal aliens, writing and ramrodding thru the 2006 border fence bill, pushing ICE and Homeland security to speed up deportations, funding more detention facilities, spearheading the use of the military for border assistance, getting ALL to focus on the illegal immigration as a national security issue, holding the House feet to the fire to prevent them from supporting the Pence compromise with the McCain-Kennedy bill last year, etc, etc. The difference is that Hunter never sticks his foot in his mouth like Tancredo so doesn’t get the MSM attention that Tancredo has over the last couple of years. And Hunter, despite this is best known as a Military Hawk. But an examination of his record reveals consistent and constant anti-illgal immigration activity. I applaud Tancredo, but he needs to hone the message. His response that we need to cut of all legal immigration is very unhelpful.
