his is the official live thread for the Space Shuttle Atlantis.. The shuttle is suppose to launch at 7:38 PM EST.

If you can't view the launch on Cable or Satellite you can go to the Nasa site to view launch live.

Main engine cutoff and jettison of the external tank! Atlantis has reached orbit and Commander Rick Sturckow has confirmed a good separation.

I didnt realize the camera was on the fuel tank! I thought it was on the bird?
I hadn't thought about it either but it makes sense because we were looking underneath the Orbiter and there is nothing there but tiles.
