Wouldn't it be just like them to attach it to the next troop-funding bill?
Kerry and McCain didn’t vote.
They want to be courted.
Reid: “This is the president’s bill...I want to help the president. I think I’ve done everything I can.

methinks Ol’ Harry is doing a little strategeralizing , and getting ready to hang this all on Bush’s neck and his own party running away from the legislation... even tho Kennedy&McCain’s names and intent was all over it from the gitgo. There are few things lower than a DemocRat leader,, few..
WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! TILL YOU RUN OUT OF INK IN YOUR PEN!
Bombard the Democrats as well, especially the ones that ran on an anti illegal immigration plank and the ones in marginal districts who could be vulnerable. keep pounding on them. This is a bipartisan issue not a Conservative or Liberal issue BUT AN AMERICAN issue.
Kill it tonight.... have its corpse waiting for Bush when he comes back on Monday.
I have seen very little support for Bush on this bill even from his most ardent supporters, myself included.
Don't forget that Reagan also signed in a massive amnesty bill as well.
bamboozle the shepple ...with the help of the MSM!
Yup.
The old ‘tried and true’.. it’s worked before.
fool me once....
Hardly any Reagan cabinet member will or would defend this bill today. At least they have shown a capacity for learning from mistakes.
Also, that world was pre 911. The need to have a border now should be obvious to anyone who is committed to the WOT.
Not everything Reagan did was perfect. But his ideas were sound. What we should be about is delivering on his vision, learning from his successes and correcting his mistakes. He was, after all, the first in what should have been a sustained conservative counter-revolution.
But what the Bush-Rove-Kennedy wing of the GOP is hell bent on is dismantling the Reagan vision and if they do anything like him, it is only his mistakes, not his successes.
McCain loses an SC county chair over immigration
**************************EXCERPT***********************
Despite his best case for the immigration compromise -- and he made a good one at the debate the other nignt -- the unalterable fact is that the issue is right now a major problem for the McCain campaign.
To wit, one of the first tangible signs of the damage it's doing, as supplied by Romney's camp:

Adam,
Please consider this my resignation as Aiken County chair for McCain. I am too far from him on the Amnesty Bill. I was hopeful that he could keep his nose clean this time around, but he cant read the pulse of the American citizens.
Please pass my regrets on to Henry McMaster.

Reid: 'This is the President's bill; this is not a Democratic bill'...
It would be nice if the PHONE NUMBERS of the KEY senators were widely publicized. For some reason, or no reason, this is rarely done.
Calling our own senators is NOT the best use of our time unless they’re undecided or can be moved. Most senators are pretty solidly for or against us already.
Among the key Republican senators:
ALL THESE NUMBERS BEGIN WITH 202-224-
Burr 202-224-3154
Craig 2752
Ensign (also heads GOP Senate campaign committee)
6244
Enzi 3424
Gregg 3324
Kyl (a leading sponsor of this horrible bill, but usually a good conservative) 4521
Lott 6253
McConnell (GOP’s Senate leader, very important) 2541
Voinovich 3353
Warner 2023
I saw that, wait until Bloomberg jumps in and messes up the whole election ala Perot
“We are trying to get the bill passed. All we ask is that the White House weigh in and try to get some Republicans to vote with us,” Reid said.
Bush is wrong on this issue, as he was on a number of others as well.
That is why we have checks and balances, because we do not trust any one man.
However, when we look back 20 years from now, we may view what he did over the 8 years in a much more favorable light.
It's an insult to all US citizens.
LOL!
To say the least, I find your vote against the Coburn amendment this morning astounding, unfathomable and completely unexplainable so PLEASE don't try.
I have been a supporter for a long time but this is the end. I cannot, in good conscience, support anyone who does not believe that we ought to fully enforce ALL our laws and particularly the laws in question here.
Just say NO to Amnesty!! Before its too late!!
