Beverage Daily is fueling speculation that Anheuser-Busch might be targeted for a takeover. This adds to an earlier report by the New York Post that Hedge fund manager and activist shareholder William Ackman reportedly wants to invest in an iconic company, i.e., Anheuser-Busch. So far, Ackman has raised $2 billion to invest in an unnamed company with a market capitalization of $30 billion to $40 billion with three divisions. A-B could fit the bill.
As a result of all the buzz, call options traded on A-B have increased to a new high and A-Bs common stock is also rising.

..much ado about nothing...If it’s true I hope a good honest beer maker will buy them out. IMO, there are lots of real good beers out there which are displacing the Bud brand.

Just so you know, Icehouse beer is made by Miller Brewing Co. They don't emphasize the ownership. Miller buying A-B might spark anti-trust examinations.

Plank Road brewery is a subsidiary of Miller (also made “Plank Road” “Red Dog” etc.) to have the “look” of a microbrew but the ad budget/distribution of Miller.

I hope they don’t change the formula. Although Bud gives me migraines and Miller gives me stomach problems, I have drank Busch since I was a baby. Literally. Grandpa used to put it in my baby bottle to keep me quiet and happy. I now drink Busch Light (at my age, I gotta watch my girlish figure, LOL!) and no matter how much I drink...and hubby says I can drink more than any man he knows...I never get a hangover or any other adverse side effects from it.

Stock price appears to be high, and therefore, stable. Takeover bid would be costly.
